Created to Create: Exploring Songwriting as a Path to Self-Expression & Spiritual Wellness with Brody Bond (In-Person Program)

August 16 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT

Think songwriting is just for musicians? Think again!

Songwriting is also a creative and spiritual practice open to everyone. At our center is the image of the Divine, who creates. When we engage in songwriting, we tap into that creative spirit within ourselves. This workshop invites you to explore songwriting as a pathway to self-expression, health, and spiritual wellness.

Writing a song as creative practice doesn’t have to be elusive! It’s something most people—artists and “non-artists” alike—have the capacity for if given a glimpse at how to start, what tools might help, and permission to try.

Baltimore-based performing songwriter and educator, Brody Bond, invites you to take a look at his process for writing songs. Brody will offer exercises, examples, suggestions, and demonstrations throughout this highly interactive and enjoyable workshop. In the intimacy of a small group, and with an encouraging guide by your side, you will explore topics such as the promise and possibility of writing a song, elements of a song, methods and ideas for getting started, helpful tools and tips, and—perhaps most importantly—you will discover the courage to write a song (or to at least take the first steps!).

No experience is necessary! Bring your curiosity and listen for the notes already singing within you.

Registration is limited and closes early for this special workshop. Please register by July 15, 2026.

FACILITATOR: Brody Bond

FACILITATOR BIO:
To listen to most of Brody Bond’s songs is to fall into a bit of a trap. You might hear something that at first feels comfortable and familiar. But then you realize something else is happening. You’re being offered new ways to perceive your experience in the world.

Brody Bond, a performing songwriter from Baltimore, MD, hopes his songs can be a type of emotional resource for people. With a voice that’s confident though fragile, melodies that take surprising turns, and lyrics that are as smart as they are emotionally vulnerable, Brody’s songs will delight especially the critical listener, and especially anyone who has grown from heartbreaking circumstances.

His latest concept record, The Mo(µ)rning EPs, is available on all streaming platforms. Brody regularly performs throughout the US.
