The Well for the Journey – COVID19 Policy
As we return to in-person programming, the Well wants to honor the choices of each individual – unvaccinated and vaccinated – while maintaining safety and care. We do invite all who wish to attend in-person programs to do so. Like many other places, the Well is making the choice to operate from a place of trust, understanding that each person, following CDC and Maryland guidelines, will use or not use a mask.  All staff and facilitators will follow CDC and Maryland guidelines.  Current (June 2021) CDC guidelines state you may resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing two weeks after you have been vaccinated (after the second dose for a two-dose vaccine).   If you have not been vaccinated, the CDC recommends that you continue to wear a mask and stay 6 ft. apart from those that don’t live with you.

We do ask that on the day of an in-person program you stay home if you:

  • have any of the following symptoms: sore throat, cough, chills, body aches for unknown reasons, shortness of breath for unknown reasons, loss of smell, loss of taste, fever at or greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit
  • have or anyone in your household currently tested positive for COVID-19

If following an in-person program, you test positive for COVID-19, please contact the Well office immediately so that we may inform others who were in attendance.

UPDATE AS OF 3:00 pm on 7/9/2020
July 1 marked the beginning of Well for the Journey’s 19th year of nurturing souls and spirits through innovative programming and experiences. Three months ago, none of us could have imagined how drastically things would change in the way that we are currently living out our mission-based work. But even though the method of delivering our programs, workshops, and retreats has changed to adapt of our current situation, the heart and soul of what has always made the Well for the Journey community so strong, so caring, so filled with thought and knowledge and so generous, continues in steadfastness and in strength.

During the last few months while providing our programming virtually, we have been able to expand our reach outside of the greater Towson area and have had participants join us from Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Oregon, Washington, North Carolina, Maine, Colorado, Georgia, Wyoming, Delaware, New York, Vermont, Ohio, Illinois, South Carolina, Utah, Massachusetts, Alabama, California, Rhode Island and Canada.  Welcome to all of our new friends!  The pandemic has shown us that the mission-based work of the Well is needed, not only here locally in MD, but expansively. We are excited for the day when we can return back to our small-group, face-to-face gatherings but we are also looking forward to building our online programming, bringing both new participants and expert facilitators from all over to the Well.

With the declaration by Governor Hogan to close non-essential businesses, the Well office has temporarily closed its center and our staff are now working from home during their normally scheduled hours.  We have also postponed/cancelled all of our programming through the end of April.  If you were registered for any of our programs through April 30th, you will be contacted individually in the next week or so to determine next steps.

In the time that we are unable to produce programming in person, in accordance with our mission, we are going to be doing some free programming via both Facebook Live and via Zoom.  Our Facebook Live Programming starts today and will be produced on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30-8:00 pm on our Facebook Page (via facebook live.)  Zoom programming will be posted to our website as soon as we have the details confirmed.  Thank you for your patience and we hope to see you on FB or at one of our Zoom classes in the coming weeks.

UPDATE AS OF 10:30 am on 3/13/2020
Dear Friends and Well Community,

This is unprecedented time we are now living. Please take care of yourself and be safe.

At the core of who we are at the Well is caring for others. Our focus is on spiritual wellness, but we believe that spiritual wellness cannot be dissected from all of who we are, including our physical health.

Because of this, the Well has made the decision to postpone programs, gatherings, and meetings beginning Sunday, March 15, through Saturday, April 4. We will be monitoring and staying attuned to changes and recommendations made by state and federal health agencies and will reassess the April 4 date accordingly.

Community is important to the Well. We are contemplating creative ways for our community to stay connected. Our Daily Faith Reflection will continue and we look forward to joining us this way. We invite you to go to our Facebook page and converse with one another. And then we are also exploring other ways we can bring spiritual nourishment and deepening via online interactions. This time of “slowing” provides opportunity for inward reflection and connecting with a deeper Source.

Most of all, we want you to be well…physically for sure, but also “wholly well”.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

Peace to you,

Greg Cochran
