SUMMARY:Writing to Heal (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:Lindsey Pope is the author of five books\, a speaker and workshop leader\, and a busy mom who is passionate about sharing love\, laughter\, and healing through writing. She developed Writing to Heal based on her own experience coming out of a mental health crisis battling severe anxiety and depression. Lindsey used this method of writing in her own healing and found it so helpful and transformative that she felt called to share it with others. \nIn this interactive program\, Lindsey invites participants to use writing as a method for healing. Research has shown that journaling positively affects people’s mental health by lowering anxiety\, stopping rumination cycles\, and increasing self-awareness (source: www.webmd.com/mental-health/mental-health-benefits-of-journaling ). While writing is a free activity that can be done at any time and any place\, some people need a little help getting started. \nLindsey provides engaging exercises and writing prompts to help people get started in a way that’s comfortable for them\, while also encouraging participants to open up in an emotionally safe environment. Participants will engage in a variety of individual and group exercises and also learn strategies to continue this practice on their own time. No prior writing or journaling experience is needed for this evening of self-care\, laughter\, and healing through writing. \n\n  \nDATE: Tuesday\, September 9\, 2025 \nTIME: 6:00 – 8:00 PM \nCOST: $35 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. If you are unable to find the email\, please check your SPAM or JUNK email folders. SUMMARY:Group Spiritual Direction: Listening for the Sacred Together (In-Person with online sessions in winter)
DESCRIPTION:“I have been a part of this group for two years. Once a month\, I find respite in my busy life to connect with the divine as I understand it. Cathy holds a container that allows for deep reflection in community with other spiritual seekers.” – Rev. Karyn Marsh \n________________________________________________________ \n“We are all just walking each other home.” \n– Rumi \nDo you yearn for a deeper connection to God\, Spirit\, the Divine? Perhaps you sense an inkling that there is something more wanting to be explored – whether you come from a formal faith tradition or none at all. \nGroup Spiritual Direction (GSD) offers a safe\, sacred space for individuals to gather in community\, slow down\, and listen deeply—for the movement of the Spirit in their lives and in each other. Unlike therapy or problem-solving groups\, spiritual direction is a contemplative practice rooted in the belief that the Divine is already present and available in each person’s journey. \nIn this group\, faith traditions vary in formality and intensity\, some may have none\, and their name for God may differ\, but all are deeply committed to exploring their spiritual paths and supporting the spiritual journeys of each group member. The intent is not to ‘fix’ or advise\, but to listen attentively\, and as members caringly share what they feel and hear\, they help each other look\, with a finer lens\, at their own spiritual relationship. Gently guided by long-time Spiritual Director\, Cathy Rosensteel\, the group cultivates compassion\, connection\, and clarity\, helping each person notice the movement of Spirit in their lives. \nSeptember through November and March through May\, Cathy’s group starts their time together with a few minutes of conversation in the kitchen at Well for the Journey. During the colder months\, December – February\, they gather on Zoom from the coziness of their homes. When at the Well\, the group transitions from the kitchen to the living room to form a contemplative\, confidential and sacred listening circle. Using the GSD process formed at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington\, DC.\, Cathy invites the group with an opening reflection from a variety of sources\, such as\, Scripture\, poetry\, texts\, and/or prose and a time of gentle silence. When ready\, members share a response flowing from their deep listening and curiosity. This simple format\, repeated throughout each session\, invites meaningful conversation and deepening. The session closes with the sharing of prayer intentions. \nWhether you’re seeking a deeper relationship with the Sacred by whatever name\, navigating a life transition\, in need of discernment\, curious about that nagging inkling\, or simply yearning to be seen and heard in a soulful way\, GSD provides a space for deep listening\, soulful reflection\, and support for your unfolding path. \nIf you would like to join Cathy’s group or simply want to know more\, please contact the Well at 410-296-9355 or email us at programming@wellforthejourney.org. Please provide your name and phone number and Cathy will be in touch to discuss your interest. \n________________________________________________________ \n\n“I have been a member of Cathy’s spiritual direction group since the fall of 2020. Each session I jot down what speaks to me. Recently I went back and typed up my notes and then created this word cloud. Every session sparks deeper thinking and honest reflection for me. I look forward to our gathering each month.” – Becky Boynton \n \nDATES (In-Person at the Well): Saturdays – 9/13\, 10/11\, 11/8/25 and 3/14\, 4/11\, 5/9/26 \nDATES (Online via Zoom): Saturdays – 12/13/25 and 1/10\, 2/14/26 \nTIME: 8:30 – 11:30 AM \nCOST: $250 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 and ZOOM \nTO REGISTER: Please contact the Well at 410-296-9355 or email us at programming@wellforthejourney.org.  We will put you in touch with Cathy so that you may chat and determine if  this program is a mutual fit.  Once that happens and if you’d like to move forward\, we will provide you with a sign up link. \nFACILITATOR: Cathy Rosensteel \nFACILITATOR BIO:\nCathy facilitates group spiritual direction in the Shalem tradition at The Well. She has an M.A. in Spiritual Direction and Pastoral Care from Loyola University Maryland. Kindled by a week-long silent Ignatian retreat\, she developed a deep appreciation for silence and the Spiritual Exercises. Furthering her interest\, she completed the 19th Annotation of the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life. Her work in this area includes leading retreats on finding silence in everyday living and walking the labyrinth. Through private practice\, Cathy is honored to provide individual spiritual direction in the Middle River and Towson areas. \nCathy’s background includes teaching teacher education candidates and directing the Special Education programs at Loyola University Maryland. She also had a notable career developing innovative programs for students with special needs\, as a teacher and administrator with the Baltimore City Public School System. \nDrawn to the outdoors\, Cathy treasures time at home on Seneca Creek with her husband and dog. SUMMARY:Honoring Late Summer\, Preparing for Fall - A Sacred Circle Dance Gathering for Women (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome back Lisa Bardack\, Sacred Circle Dance Facilitator\, for another sacred circle dance gathering at the Well! These intimate sessions have become a tradition at the Well to mark the turning of the seasons with soulful movement and connection\, bringing a beautiful energy that continues to resonate throughout the Well long after the music fades. \nSacred circle dance is a collective dance experience that draws from ancient and traditional folk dances\, many from Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Dancing to wonderful music and rhythms\, we join the circle of grandmothers who initiated these dances and passed them on. Dancing in their footsteps\, we experience a sense of something greater than ourselves\, a continuum of which we are a sacred part. The dances connect us to the rhythm of the seasons\, evoking joy\, peace\, insight\, healing and a deep sense of community and interconnection with each other and all life. \nIn Traditional Chinese Medicine\, Earth is the element associated with the season of late summer. As we move from the more yang/outward energy of summer toward the more yin/inward energy of fall\, the Earth provides us with the nourishment and grounding we need to help with this seasonal transition. In this circle dance gathering\, we will dance to honor Earth’s abundance\, generosity\, and support. As the fall equinox nears\, we’ll explore the dance between being and doing in an often busy season and acknowledge the need to let go of that which no longer serves us to create space for the new. \nNo dance experience is required (just basic mobility and coordination)\, as the dances are simple to moderately easy\, and the step sequences repetitive. Lisa will gently guide us in the dance steps and share meaningful information on the origins of each dance. You can dance in bare feet\, socks\, or soft soled shoes. \nIf you love to dance\, or perhaps love the idea of sacred dance and are curious to learn more\, come and enjoy a beautiful afternoon of movement meditation in the safe and nurturing environment that is the Well! Registration is limited to 8 participants\, so please don’t delay! \nTo learn more about sacred circle dance and Lisa\, please visit Lisa’s website: https://www.evokethesacred.com \nDATE: Saturday\, September 13\, 2025 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $40 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. This email will include details to help you prepare for your program including any pertinent handouts\, location information\, and the ZOOM link for online programs. SUMMARY:The Laws of Life and Your Brain’s Health (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:“It is the opinion of those who best understand the physical system\, that if the physical [and spiritual] laws were strictly observed from generation to generation\, there would be an end to the frightful diseases that cut life short…and of the long list of maladies that make life a torment or a trial and that this wonderful machine\, the body\, this godly temple would gradually decay and men and women would at last die as if gently falling asleep.” \n~ Elizabeth Buckminster Sedgwick (1788–1862)\, Educator & Author \nQuestion: What makes for a long\, prosperous\, happy and healthy life?\nAnswer: It is never just one thing. \nWe all know that\, but there are things that are weightier – that have greater impact on our lives than others\, in a sense. In this program\, we will be examining the laws (factors) that exert the greatest influence on our spiritual\, psychological\, emotional and physical lives\, and\, directly or indirectly\, our brains. For example\, one of the laws of life speaks to the quality of our relationships. We know from research done at Harvard that good quality relationships play a significant role in health and longevity. Many times we focus on the external\, the physical\, to solve our problems\, while overlooking the little\, day-to-day things we do that have greater impact on the health of our brains and bodies. \nThrough our partnership with Baltimore County’s Department of Aging\, the Well was introduced to Dr. David Ajibade\, award-winning physician\, thought leader\, and dementia educator. Join David for this intriguing program\, where we will discuss the different laws and how they affect our brain and overall mental health. We will engage in large group discussions\, small group conversations\, and exercises to ascertain ways that we can strengthen our spirits\, minds and bodies by intelligently applying the seven laws of life. \nThese laws state that the quality of your life (or your health\, your business\, your marriage\, fill in the blanks) depends on the quality of: \n\nThe words you speak\, hear and read\nYour beliefs\nYour thoughts and emotions\nYour nutrition – what you put in your mouth\nThe care you give your body\nYour relationships\nYour vocation/profession/hobbies/job\n\nEssentially\, these seven factors are key components to living a long and healthy\, human life. Every functioning human being in the world has these factors operating to some degree in their life. Most individuals\, however\, are not deliberately or purposefully using them to direct the course of their lives. While the first three relate to a person’s internal world\, such as your core being and personality\, the next three relate to the external – our relationship with others\, food\, the environment\, what we do with our bodies\, and so on. The seventh law is a bi-directional factor that influences the other six while simultaneously being influenced by them. \nParticipants who engage in this program will receive a more expansive understanding of what being “healthy” truly means\, on a spiritual\, mental\, emotional\, and physical level\, and they will be able to manifest specific action steps to take to improve the quality of their health and lives. Participants will develop insight around discerning which behaviors and practices harm our brains and which ones support them\, so that we can easily improve our brain function throughout our lives and enjoy good cognition\, memory and moods well into our 90s and beyond!\n\nDATE: Thursday\, September 18\, 2025 \nTIME: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM \nCOST: $40 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Dr. David Ajibade \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nDr. David Adedayo Ajibade is a U.S. based physician\, visionary health educator\, and public health advocate whose work spans continents\, bridging the gaps in healthcare delivery\, brain health awareness\, and holistic wellness across Nigeria and the United States. SUMMARY:Reiki\, Rest & Relax: Tools to Thrive (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a nourishing small group gathering with certified Reiki master\, Amy Pelsinsky. Amy discovered Reiki in 2004 when struggling with her own health challenge and has been sharing it with others ever since! She will gently introduce us to the healing art of Reiki and its benefits\, offer a taste of Reiki to each participant\, and empower us with tools to handle stress and thrive on our own. \nRooted in the Japanese tradition of energy work\, Reiki uses gentle hand movements with light or no touch\, to guide energy within a person’s body to encourage self-healing. Reiki helps shift your body’s stress response from its “fight-or-flight” state to a more restful state\, kind of like a deep meditation or a heart-felt prayer. It is especially good at helping when we feel overwhelmed\, stressed\, or anxious. \nTogether\, we will: \n• Explore what Reiki is\, how it works\, and how it can support healing of body\, mind and spirit.\n• Participate in a guided meditation to calm ourselves and kick-start some healing vibes.\n• Receive a short\, individual experience of Reiki.\n• Learn simple self-care techniques you can use at home to handle anxiety and stress. \nAll are welcome. No prior experience with Reiki or meditation is necessary. Whether you’re simply curious or looking for support in a challenging season\, this gentle experience offers space to restore\, relax\, and thrive. \nDATE: Saturday\, September 27\, 2025 \nTIME: 1:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $50 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. SUMMARY:Breathing Through the Grief Journey: Opening Flow Through Heavy Hearts (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:The journey through grief and loss engages all of our being and can be exhausting and confusing in navigating the many ways our body and spirit struggle to integrate the complex emotions and physical responses we experience. Grief has strong somatic components\, in addition to the emotional and spiritual aspects. We feel and process profound losses in our body’s responses of exhaustion\, digestive upset\, insomnia\, disruption in our eating patterns\, headaches\, among other symptoms. \nIntrospective Breathwork\, utilizing conscious connected (circular) breathing\, is a healing\, therapeutic modality which supports griefwork through somatic release. It invites us into deeper relationship with ourselves and the flow of our experience of grief\, as the grief uniquely manifests itself in our healing process. Breath is a bridge between our physical life and consciousness\, and its intentional\, mindful practice can ease the dysregulation in our nervous system during times of loss. It also supports the moving up and through to greater awareness and acceptance of emotions such as sadness\, anger\, loneliness and fear\, as well as numbness\, all very common within the one who is grieving.   \nWe all experience grief through a variety of losses\, transitions\, and changes – some personal and profound\, some communal\, some everyday losses in the seasons of life. We invite you to join Certified Introspective Breathwork™ Facilitator\, Amy Kulesa\, for a group session of conscious connected breathwork. Sometimes called “circular breathing\,” conscious connected breathwork involves deep\, diaphragmatic inhalations followed by natural\, unforced exhalation\, without a pause at the top and bottom of the breath. After a brief introduction to the history and practice of breathwork\, participants will breathe this way for an hour\, lying down on a mat or cushion\, to the accompaniment of ambient music. When breathing in this way\, you are in conscious control at all times of your own experience and can slow down or quicken your breath at any time\, pause to get a drink or use the restroom. \nAmy will offer support for you and your unique grief experience through compassionate and soulful presence and\, when appropriate\, through verbal prompts or gentle touch (with your permission). Following the breathwork practice\, there will be an integrative time of journaling\, stretching\, walking – whatever is helpful to you – to process the experience more fully and then a time of voluntary sharing as a group. \nStudies have found conscious connected breathwork to be very safe-rarely\, if ever\, do people experience adverse effects. Participants who are pregnant\, have a cardiac condition\, or other medical conditions such as bi-polar disorder or epilepsy\, need to be aware that this activating breath practice affects the entire body’s systems. Participants are encouraged to discuss their interest in the program with their healthcare provider. All participants will be required to sign a release form after registration and return it to Amy for review. \nPLEASE NOTE: This program is being held in the Upper Room at the Well. Participants will need to walk up the stairs to the 3rd Floor. We also encourage you to please register early! Registration is limited to 9 people so that Amy can give personal attention to each participant. Come with whatever you might be carrying and open the flow with your healing breath. \n\nDATE: Saturday\, October 4\, 2025\n\nTIME: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM \nCOST: $55 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program.
She enjoys designing engraved affirmation stones\, gardening\, and swimming. Often\, she can be found happily reading\, near or in a body of water\, or just sitting\, very still.

SUMMARY:Horizons Men's Group 2025-2026 (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:Most men do not feel they can talk freely about their spiritual journey. At Well For The Journey\, we feel differently. The Horizons Men’s Group at the Well is a place where honest conversations take place about how we live out our spirituality uniquely as men in the world – within our daily living. \nGreg Cochran\, Executive Director at the Well\, has been facilitating Horizons for over ten years. Past discussions have explored a wide range of topics including the deconstruction and reconstruction of faith\, navigating the first and second halves of life\, spirituality and imperfection\, why do bad things happen to good people\, what is Truth\, and what can we learn from other faith traditions – just to name a few! \nThis season\, the wisdom of Parker Palmer will inform our conversation through two of his books: \nA Hidden Wholeness: The Journey Toward an Undivided Life – explores the concept of living an “undivided life”—where one’s inner truth aligns with their outer actions and roles. \nLet Your Life Speak: Listening for the Voice of Vocation – explores what it means to find one’s true calling by deeply listening to one’s inner self and aligning with one’s authentic nature\, emphasizing that vocation isn’t a specific job title\, but rather a way of living authentically and embracing our unique gifts and limitations. \nDue to high interest\, we are pleased to offer two monthly groups this year – both graciously led by Greg! The Tuesday evening group will meet in-person at the Well and the Thursday evening group will meet online via Zoom. \nIf you are looking for a community where difficult questions are welcomed and explored from the unique perspective of male spirituality\, we have a place for you in Horizons. \nThis registration is for the in-person session on Tuesday evenings. \nDATES: Tuesdays – 10/14\, 11/18\, 12/16/25\, and 1/20\, 2/17\, 3/17\, 4/21\, 5/19\, and 6/9/26 \nTIME: 7:00 – 8:30 PM \nCOST: $200 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. SUMMARY:SOLD OUT: Sound Soul Weaving: - A Seated Sound Bath Experience (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:This program has reached its capacity and is now sold out.  We have created a wait list for this program should someone be unable to attend.  You can join the wait list here. \nOr you can sign up for our December Sound Soul Weaving here. \nThe practice of sound bathing has gained popularity recently but is actually a healing practice that is thousands of years old with deep roots in cultures around the world. Jenny Ehrhardt has been facilitating sound offerings for several years\, incorporating her first love as an herbalist into all that she offers. Integrating sound using crystal chakra bowls\, bells\, song\, and rattles with plants and sweetness from the earth\, opens our hearts and nourishes the soul for the healing of the world. What a perfect combination for the Well community and all who seek soul nourishment and healing for self and others! \nWe are thrilled to welcome Jenny back to the Well for another session of healing\, renewal and nourishment. Jenny will offer a time of stillness\, sacred listening\, reflection\, and alignment with spirit that invites us to take care of ourselves as well as send love and peace out into the world through our vibrations\, prayers and the collective spiritual intention of a sacred community. \nYou will be seated for this session which will begin with a time of introduction and honoring of each participant\, inviting plant spirit connection to our intentions/prayers and sound healing meditation. Healing sound helps break up trauma in the body and assists in releasing whatever no longer serves us. This is so important in our culture and world today. At the end of the session\, Jenny will share seasonal herbal tea and a sweet offering to help integrate and embody the experience. \nWe are thrilled that Jenny found the Well (literally in her own neighborhood!) and is sharing her gifts of love and presence now as part of the Well community. We invite you to join Jenny and trust this ancient healing process of soul sound weaving for the renewal of your body\, mind and spirit and the nourishment of your soul. \nPlease don’t delay! Sound Soul Weaving sessions at the Well sell out every time! \nDATE: Sunday\, October 19\, 2025 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $50 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is at capacity; you may join the waitlist here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Jenny Ehrhardt \nFACILITATOR BIO:\nI have been fortunate to work with two other women facilitating sound offerings on the Eastern Shore. I have seen so many beautiful effects this work has had on so many people\, including myself. I feel honored to be working with the bowls and other sounds to help connect us to something much deeper\, Ourselves. Working with all ages on many different levels\, I see the peace come over most people in a very surprising way. I have been called to create small\, intimate sound offerings right here in my hometown. I am grateful to have found Well for the Journey\, which has become such a sacred place for me. I work deeply with the plants as well and had a small shoppe in Hampden for over 10 years. I have been called to service and I love plants\, sound\, and people who are open to change and learning and being in a community without judgement. Pure Hearts\, I feel this at Well For the Journey and look forward to connecting more and sharing and learning through sound and the plants.

She enjoys designing engraved affirmation stones\, gardening\, and swimming. Often\, she can be found happily reading\, near or in a body of water\, or just sitting\, very still.

SUMMARY:Joyfully Honoring Ancestors and Other Beloveds: A Mosaic of Gratitude (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:I thought the whole experience was wonderful. The time spent exploring questions & haikus was so rich and helpful in preparing us for the experience of creating our mosaics. The guided meditation was also helpful in creating the pause I needed between what had gone before and what was to come. – Gwen Paduch \nIt was an excellent activity and afternoon. Everything was laid out for us. It was easy to follow instructions. I thought it was a great combination of activity\, reflection\, and interaction. The final product was beautiful and holds lots of meaning. – Anne Eikenberg \nThe program and Cinder\, as always\, far exceed my expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the interactions that I had with others. Amazing day! – Past Participant \nI can’t think of anything to improve the experience. Cinder did a fantastic job of fitting so much into the time we had. I felt like I connected to all the participants and came away feeling very positive and centered – Anita \nFall’s poignancy and ritual shedding of leaves is a time that can bring grief closer for many. This joyful workshop honors the processes of grief and remembrance\, of letting go and holding on – wherever we may be in that vast field. It creates a vessel for group and individual contemplation\, self-expression\, and creation that provides quality time to remember and memorialize loved ones. \nWe will use a variety of creative practices and activities to remember\, share stories\, and communicate our love and appreciation for those who have left the earthly plane. Participants will engage in storytelling\, haiku writing\, and the design and creation of a colorful mosaic keepsake. Our conversations and sharing will help inspire us and quiet individual making time will enable everyone to appreciate and celebrate those we love. \nCommunity mosaic artist Cinder Hypki brings years of experience guiding groups in creative activities for celebration\, exploration and healing. She brings her mobile mosaic studio to the Well\, offering a sumptuous feast of materials for memorializing in mosaics. We are delighted to welcome Cinder back for her fifth mosaic offering at the Well. No prior experience with mosaics or any art form is required to participate. Cinder will guide every step of this joyful\, creative\, and life-giving process. \nTo learn more about Cinder and her amazing work\, please visit her at “Cinder Hypki – Artist” on Facebook. \n              \nDATE: Sunday\, November 16\, 2025 \nTIME: 1:00 – 5:00 PM \nCOST: $100 + $25 Supply Fee \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W.
Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. SUMMARY:Journeying in Grief Through a Spiritual Lens: A Day-long Retreat in Autumn (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:“And once the storm is over\, you won’t remember how you made it through\, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure\, in fact\, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm\, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what the storm’s all about.” — Haruki Murakami\, Kafka on the Shore \nWith a spiritual lens\, grieving the losses of one’s life as a journey allows human beings to understand the healing process in stages\, with accompanying tasks\, and with needs that are both universal and unique. Yet\, there are multiple faces of grief and diverse ways of expressing them. Since experiencing the global pandemic\, grieving as we once knew it has changed in innumerable ways. And\, as we continue to emerge into this new era of living\, our engagement with loss — both as individuals and in communities — has been incredibly impacted. This can\, however\, empower us to acknowledge our emotions and reflect on our experiences spiritually\, so as to heal and move forward in healthy\, positive ways. In solidarity with each other\, we can take steps toward expanding our openness to the powerful transformation that these losses and our grief work can lead us to. \nJoin us at the Well for this day-long retreat as we gather together for deep listening\, dialogue\, and other meaningful exercises. Autumn is a season in which we often shift our awareness to our interior lives\, as our senses and spirits bear witness to a pronounced time of dying\, emptying\, and releasing. So\, with the framework of journeying and utilizing a spiritual lens\, this retreat will invite you to ritually express your grief in the presence of community. Various resources will be offered to uplift participants as they consider their respective stories and navigate personal and collective landscapes of loss. Attention will also be given to some of the sacred tasks inherent to grieving the death of loved ones as well as other significant changes and transitions. \nPlease bring a bag lunch and journey with us through the spiritual lens of grief. \nDATE: Saturday\, November 22\, 2025 \nTIME: 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET \nCOST: Please choose the option that works best for you! SUMMARY:Encounters with Angels: The Courage of Mary and Joseph (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:Mary and Joseph each received a life-changing invitation from God—an encounter that disrupted their plans and called forth radical trust. Mary’s “Let it be” and Joseph’s quiet obedience reveal two different but equally profound ways of saying yes to the invitation. \nIn this Advent retreat\, we will enter into their stories and explore the courage and trust that shaped their responses. Together\, we will reflect on what it means for us to offer our own yes—whether in response to bold angelic announcements or to the quiet whispers of the Divine. In the company of Mary and Joseph\, we will attune our hearts and ears to the call of God in our lives\, considering how such a response can take shape in seasons of uncertainty\, upheaval\, or divine discontent. \nYou are warmly invited to join this day of retreat in sacred community at the Well. Our time together will include contemplative spiritual practices\, reflection\, periods of silence\, and opportunities for sharing in sacred community. A simple lunch of soup and bread will be provided. \nDATE: Saturday\, December 6\, 2025 \nTIME: 9:30am – 4:00pm \nCOST: $75\, includes lunch \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program.
