SUMMARY:Honoring Late Summer\, Preparing for Fall - A Sacred Circle Dance Gathering for Women (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome back Lisa Bardack\, Sacred Circle Dance Facilitator\, for another sacred circle dance gathering at the Well! These intimate sessions have become a tradition at the Well to mark the turning of the seasons with soulful movement and connection\, bringing a beautiful energy that continues to resonate throughout the Well long after the music fades. \nSacred circle dance is a collective dance experience that draws from ancient and traditional folk dances\, many from Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Dancing to wonderful music and rhythms\, we join the circle of grandmothers who initiated these dances and passed them on. Dancing in their footsteps\, we experience a sense of something greater than ourselves\, a continuum of which we are a sacred part. The dances connect us to the rhythm of the seasons\, evoking joy\, peace\, insight\, healing and a deep sense of community and interconnection with each other and all life. \nIn Traditional Chinese Medicine\, Earth is the element associated with the season of late summer. As we move from the more yang/outward energy of summer toward the more yin/inward energy of fall\, the Earth provides us with the nourishment and grounding we need to help with this seasonal transition. In this circle dance gathering\, we will dance to honor Earth’s abundance\, generosity\, and support. As the fall equinox nears\, we’ll explore the dance between being and doing in an often busy season and acknowledge the need to let go of that which no longer serves us to create space for the new. \nNo dance experience is required (just basic mobility and coordination)\, as the dances are simple to moderately easy\, and the step sequences repetitive. Lisa will gently guide us in the dance steps and share meaningful information on the origins of each dance. You can dance in bare feet\, socks\, or soft soled shoes. \nIf you love to dance\, or perhaps love the idea of sacred dance and are curious to learn more\, come and enjoy a beautiful afternoon of movement meditation in the safe and nurturing environment that is the Well! Registration is limited to 8 participants\, so please don’t delay! \nTo learn more about sacred circle dance and Lisa\, please visit Lisa’s website: https://www.evokethesacred.com \nDATE: Saturday\, September 13\, 2025 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $40 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. If you are unable to find the email\, please check your SPAM or JUNK email folders. This email will include details to help you prepare for your program including any pertinent handouts\, location information\, and the ZOOM link for online programs. Please be sure you have received and read this email a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the start of the program. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Lisa Bardack \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nLisa Bardack\, Sacred Circle Dance facilitator\, has been dancing most of her life\, feeling a deep sense of authenticity with this art form. She has studied Sacred Circle Dance for over 15 years through classes and conferences nationally and internationally and has been teaching since 2008. SUMMARY:Group Spiritual Direction: Listening for the Sacred Together (In-Person with online sessions in winter)
DESCRIPTION:“I have been a part of this group for two years. Once a month\, I find respite in my busy life to connect with the divine as I understand it. Cathy holds a container that allows for deep reflection in community with other spiritual seekers.” – Rev. Karyn Marsh \n________________________________________________________ \n“We are all just walking each other home.” \n– Rumi \nDo you yearn for a deeper connection to God\, Spirit\, the Divine? Perhaps you sense an inkling that there is something more wanting to be explored – whether you come from a formal faith tradition or none at all. \nGroup Spiritual Direction (GSD) offers a safe\, sacred space for individuals to gather in community\, slow down\, and listen deeply—for the movement of the Spirit in their lives and in each other. Unlike therapy or problem-solving groups\, spiritual direction is a contemplative practice rooted in the belief that the Divine is already present and available in each person’s journey. \nIn this group\, faith traditions vary in formality and intensity\, some may have none\, and their name for God may differ\, but all are deeply committed to exploring their spiritual paths and supporting the spiritual journeys of each group member. The intent is not to ‘fix’ or advise\, but to listen attentively\, and as members caringly share what they feel and hear\, they help each other look\, with a finer lens\, at their own spiritual relationship. Gently guided by long-time Spiritual Director\, Cathy Rosensteel\, the group cultivates compassion\, connection\, and clarity\, helping each person notice the movement of Spirit in their lives. \nSeptember through November and March through May\, Cathy’s group starts their time together with a few minutes of conversation in the kitchen at Well for the Journey. During the colder months\, December – February\, they gather on Zoom from the coziness of their homes. When at the Well\, the group transitions from the kitchen to the living room to form a contemplative\, confidential and sacred listening circle. Using the GSD process formed at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington\, DC.\, Cathy invites the group with an opening reflection from a variety of sources\, such as\, Scripture\, poetry\, texts\, and/or prose and a time of gentle silence. When ready\, members share a response flowing from their deep listening and curiosity. This simple format\, repeated throughout each session\, invites meaningful conversation and deepening. The session closes with the sharing of prayer intentions. \nWhether you’re seeking a deeper relationship with the Sacred by whatever name\, navigating a life transition\, in need of discernment\, curious about that nagging inkling\, or simply yearning to be seen and heard in a soulful way\, GSD provides a space for deep listening\, soulful reflection\, and support for your unfolding path. \nIf you would like to join Cathy’s group or simply want to know more\, please contact the Well at 410-296-9355 or email us at programming@wellforthejourney.org. Please provide your name and phone number and Cathy will be in touch to discuss your interest. \n________________________________________________________ \n\n“I have been a member of Cathy’s spiritual direction group since the fall of 2020. Each session I jot down what speaks to me. Recently I went back and typed up my notes and then created this word cloud. Every session sparks deeper thinking and honest reflection for me. I look forward to our gathering each month.” – Becky Boynton \n \nDATES (In-Person at the Well): Saturdays – 9/13\, 10/11\, 11/8/25 and 3/14\, 4/11\, 5/9/26 \nDATES (Online via Zoom): Saturdays – 12/13/25 and 1/10\, 2/14/26 \nTIME: 8:30 – 11:30 AM \nCOST: $250 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 and ZOOM \nTO REGISTER: Please contact the Well at 410-296-9355 or email us at programming@wellforthejourney.org.  We will put you in touch with Cathy so that you may chat and determine if  this program is a mutual fit.  Once that happens and if you’d like to move forward\, we will provide you with a sign up link. \nFACILITATOR: Cathy Rosensteel \nFACILITATOR BIO:\nCathy facilitates group spiritual direction in the Shalem tradition at The Well. She has an M.A. in Spiritual Direction and Pastoral Care from Loyola University Maryland. Kindled by a week-long silent Ignatian retreat\, she developed a deep appreciation for silence and the Spiritual Exercises. Furthering her interest\, she completed the 19th Annotation of the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life. Her work in this area includes leading retreats on finding silence in everyday living and walking the labyrinth. Through private practice\, Cathy is honored to provide individual spiritual direction in the Middle River and Towson areas. \nCathy’s background includes teaching teacher education candidates and directing the Special Education programs at Loyola University Maryland. She also had a notable career developing innovative programs for students with special needs\, as a teacher and administrator with the Baltimore City Public School System. \nDrawn to the outdoors\, Cathy treasures time at home on Seneca Creek with her husband and dog. She enjoys designing engraved affirmation stones\, gardening\, and swimming. Often\, she can be found happily reading\, near or in a body of water\, or just sitting\, very still.

SUMMARY:Writing to Heal (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:Lindsey Pope is the author of five books\, a speaker and workshop leader\, and a busy mom who is passionate about sharing love\, laughter\, and healing through writing. She developed Writing to Heal based on her own experience coming out of a mental health crisis battling severe anxiety and depression. Lindsey used this method of writing in her own healing and found it so helpful and transformative that she felt called to share it with others. \nIn this interactive program\, Lindsey invites participants to use writing as a method for healing. Research has shown that journaling positively affects people’s mental health by lowering anxiety\, stopping rumination cycles\, and increasing self-awareness (source: www.webmd.com/mental-health/mental-health-benefits-of-journaling ). While writing is a free activity that can be done at any time and any place\, some people need a little help getting started. \nLindsey provides engaging exercises and writing prompts to help people get started in a way that’s comfortable for them\, while also encouraging participants to open up in an emotionally safe environment. Participants will engage in a variety of individual and group exercises and also learn strategies to continue this practice on their own time. No prior writing or journaling experience is needed for this evening of self-care\, laughter\, and healing through writing. \n\n  \nDATE: Tuesday\, September 9\, 2025 \nTIME: 6:00 – 8:00 PM \nCOST: $35 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. SUMMARY:In Search of Sanctuary - A Day Retreat (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:“Sanctuary is wherever I find safe space to regain my bearings\, reclaim my soul\, heal my wounds\, and return to the world as a wounded healer. It’s not merely about finding shelter from the storm: it’s about spiritual survival.”\n– Parker Palmer \nThe word “sanctuary” typically evokes a sense of peace\, shelter\, and safety. It may remind us of a particular space where we have worshipped\, a favorite bird sanctuary\, or a place of refuge for those seeking a safe haven. Parker Palmer suggests that sanctuary is any space where we can regain our bearings\, reclaim our souls\, and heal our wounds. In these troubled and depleting times\, sanctuary is vital for our spiritual wellbeing. \nSometimes sanctuaries are physical spaces\, but sanctuary may also be found in the company of creation\, the solace of a friend\, the pages of a good book\, or the depth of silence. On this day of retreat in the sanctuary of Well for the Journey\, we will search for the sanctuaries in our lives\, reflect on their meaning and purpose\, and consider how we might be sanctuary for others. Our search will be aided by contemplative spiritual practices\, reflection\, periods of silence\, and sacred space for dialogue and sharing. \nA simple lunch of soup and bread will be provided. Come\, step away\, and regain your bearings in the sanctuary of the Well. \nDATE: Saturday\, September 6\, 2025 \nTIME: 9:30am – 4:00pm \nCOST: $70\, includes lunch \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. SUMMARY:Jimmy Carter’s Living Faith Book Study (Online Program)
DESCRIPTION:“Somewhat to my own surprise\, this has become a book whose core is love – the love that is possible among those who are closely related\, among strangers allied by a common dream or faith\, and even between people who begin by despising each other but find a way to see the image of God in each other’s humanity.”   ~ President Jimmy Carter\, Living Faith \nPublished in 1996\, more than a decade and a half after he left the office of U.S. President\, Jimmy Carter wrote a spiritual memoir about the breadth of his experiences during his political service to America. Living Faith examines this journey while probing Carter’s encompassing life with significant depth—the kind sourced from a durable faith that brings perseverance\, hope\, and compassion to every moment and encounter. It is filled to overflowing with stories of people whose lives have touched his\, including some from the world stage and many others from more modest walks of life. It reflects tenderly on his learnings about other faiths\, the process involved in forgiveness\, and the inspiration he received from theologians and family friends alike on the values of leading with love and patience. \nPlease join us for this two-part book study in which we will explore the meaning of faith in Jimmy Carter’s life as captured in his memoir\, where he considers the values closest to his heart and the personal beliefs that have nurtured and sustained him throughout his entire life. In each session\, we will highlight various passages from Living Faith as a community of spiritual seekers\, with opportunities for personal reflection and group discussion. Accompanied by moments of prayer/meditation\, writing prompts\, and additional contemplative exercises\, participants will be invited to engage with the heart of President Carter’s distinct and empowering message while connecting it to their respective life journeys\, leadership roles\, and interpersonal relationships. Time will also be allotted for optional sharing about what faith and some of its most authentic expressions look like in present-day circumstances. \nTake a break from Summer’s heat and step into this opportunity for spiritual encouragement and refreshment from the life and perspective of one of our most admired Americans! You can join us from anywhere that is optimal for you as each session is being facilitated online. Reading Living Faith in advance of this book study is not required but is welcomed. And\, we think you will enjoy it! \nDATE: Wednesdays\, 8/13 and 8/20/25 \nTIME: 1:00 – 3:00 PM ET \nCOST: $45 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nLOCATION: ZOOM \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. SUMMARY:Sound Soul Weaving:  A Seated Sound Bath Experience (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:“This was an amazing meditation and one I would do again with Jenny. She creates a sacred space\, is welcoming and gracious. It was exactly what I needed today.” – Donna Mollenkopf \n“I had never experienced sound bathing in my life. It was an incredibly relaxing\, soul nurturing\, meditative and mindful practice. It was a self-giving gift of mind massage I gave to myself and highly needed in the turbulent times we live in. I loved it all. Best program I ever went to at the well.” – Maria Pane \n“This was my first experience with soul sounds coming from multiple sources. Jen combined them with the glass bowls perfectly. The length of time was perfect to allow us to let go and sink deeply into the vibrations of each instrument. I left feeling that my body and soul had been completely nourished.” – Judy Wright \n“Have it monthly. :)” – Diana Fusting \n“I loved every minute!” – Sandi Schultz \nThe practice of sound bathing has gained popularity recently but is actually a healing practice that is thousands of years old with deep roots in cultures around the world. Jenny Ehrhardt has been facilitating sound offerings for several years\, incorporating her first love as an herbalist into all that she offers. Integrating sound using crystal chakra bowls\, bells\, song\, and rattles with plants and sweetness from the earth\, opens our hearts and nourishes the soul for the healing of the world. What a perfect combination for the Well community and all who seek soul nourishment and healing for self and others! \nWe are thrilled to welcome Jenny back to the Well for another session of healing\, renewal and nourishment. Jenny will offer a time of stillness\, sacred listening\, reflection\, and alignment with spirit that invites us to take care of ourselves as well as send love and peace out into the world through our vibrations\, prayers and the collective spiritual intention of a sacred community. \nYou will be seated for this session which will begin with a time of introduction and honoring of each participant\, inviting plant spirit connection to our intentions/prayers and sound healing meditation. Healing sound helps break up trauma in the body and assists in releasing whatever no longer serves us. This is so important in our culture and world today. At the end of the session\, Jenny will share seasonal herbal tea and a sweet offering to help integrate and embody the experience. \nWe are thrilled that Jenny found the Well (literally in her own neighborhood!) and is sharing her gifts of love and presence now as part of the Well community. We invite you to join Jenny and trust this ancient healing process of soul sound weaving for the renewal of your body\, mind and spirit and the nourishment of your soul. \nPlease don’t delay! Jenny’s Sound Soul Weaving sessions at the Well sell out every time! \nDATE: Sunday\, August 17\, 2025 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $50 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. I have seen so many beautiful effects this work has had on so many people\, including myself. I feel honored to be working with the bowls and other sounds to help connect us to something much deeper\, Ourselves. Working with all ages on many different levels\, I see the peace come over most people in a very surprising way. I have been called to create small\, intimate sound offerings right here in my hometown. I am grateful to have found Well for the Journey\, which has been such a sacred place for me this past year. I work deeply with the plants as well and had a small shoppe in Hampden for over 10 years. I have been called to service and I love plants\, sound\, and people who are open to change and learning and being in a community without judgement. Pure Hearts\, I feel this at Well For the Journey and look forward to connecting more and sharing and learning through sound and the plants.

SUMMARY:An Artful Approach to Understanding Ecclesiastes through the Works of Vincent Van Gogh & Pete Seeger (Online Program)
DESCRIPTION:“I thought the program was well done and tied the scripture and art together well. The presenter was well prepared and passionate about the subject matter her enthusiasm was contagious.” – Janice Carico \n“This was a BEAUTIFUL program… I would love a redo of this or a similar program.” – Mary Murphy \nWritten more than twenty-two centuries ago\, Ecclesiastes is one of the Wisdom books of the Old Testament\, though many struggle with understanding its conflicting messages of futility and joy. And yet\, these timeless scriptures invite us to take a closer look and apply God’s gifts of wisdom in a society that is challenged by injustice\, oppression\, frustrations\, and greed. \nJoin us for this two-part program that engages participants through music and art to uncover a deeper awareness of the wisdom imparted in Ecclesiastes. Session 1 will focus on the first three chapters of Ecclesiastes\, including a deeper dive into Chapter 3 using the music of Pete Seeger as well as the art of Vincent van Gogh. Session 2 will focus on the last nine chapters of Ecclesiastes using the art of Van Gogh and will include a deeper dive into Chapter 8 using a 4-part structure that can be applied to understanding other passages in Ecclesiastes. \nAfter introductions and deeper dives\, each session will support quiet enjoyment of nineteen Van Gogh paintings paired with scripture passages from Ecclesiastes\, after which small breakout groups will discuss and then share with the larger group. Both sessions will end with provocative images and quotes to encourage attendees to continue their own artful applications of Ecclesiastes in today’s world. \nCheryl Duvall\, a lifelong artist and Vincent van Gogh enthusiast\, will facilitate this program that involves both passive and active engagement. During each session\, she will read select passages from Ecclesiastes while simultaneously displaying images from Van Gogh’s vast collection in a stimulating interpretation of this Book of Wisdom. She will invite discussion about using art and music to uncover deeper meanings to sacred scriptures\, helping us to apply God’s wisdom to today’s challenges. \nWe encourage you to participate in both sessions if your schedule allows. The Well is delighted to be able to offer three levels of pricing for both sessions so that you can choose the option that works best for you. If you can only join one session\, please do! \nDATES: Mondays – 8/4 and 8/11/25 \nTIME: 7:00 – 8:30 PM ET \nCOST: Please choose the pricing option that works best for you! SUMMARY:An Intergenerational Mindful Outdoor Experience (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:In this Mindful Outdoor Experience (MOE)\, adults and children ages 5 to 12 learn to use their mind-body-spirit to begin the process of “re-wilding” to the outdoors. Spending time at “nature’s table” with our children creates cherished memories and builds an appreciation for all that “Mother Nature” gives. \nA regular dose of outdoor activities also teaches people of all ages how to remedy complex and challenging emotions such as stress and loneliness. It is especially important to teach our children how to handle these emotions as early as possible so they become more adept as teens and into adulthood. \nThe best way to learn from nature is to be outside in nature. Jamila Keita\, experienced Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide (KMOG)\, will lead us in age-appropriate nature-driven practices to awaken the senses and develop connections with the “more than human world\,” gentle yoga movement to breathe\, stretch & strengthen\, and guided meditation practices to release stress\, relax the mind and promote good emotional health. \nNo experience is necessary. Bring your curiosity and a few of the children\, grandchildren\, nieces\, nephews\, or other young people in your life for a delightful and engaging summer morning at the Well. We all need to get outside and take a breath! \nDATE: Saturday\, August 2\, 2025 \nTIME: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM \nCOST: 1 Adult – $40; 2 Adults – $60; Each Child – $5 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY: Please read our cancellation / refund policy\, here. \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. My name is Evangeline “Jamila” Keita. I’ve been practicing yoga for almost 25 years and decided to teach yoga as my “retirement job.” It was during my yoga training (YT200) that I was introduced to Yoga Nidra. Immediately after completing YT200 in 2014\, I took my first Yoga Nidra training. Since that time\, I’ve taken subsequent trainings in Yoga Nidra in 2017 and 2021. I love this practice. \nDuring the shutdown\, I found “nature therapy.” This led me to complete a course through “The Kripalu School of Outdoor Leadership” and become a KMOG (Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide). \nI currently work for Nature Worx\, a non-profit that provides mindful outdoor experiences and nature therapy to persons in recovery and the general public. I also teach two yoga classes per week on Zoom. Each class includes poses and a short Yoga Nidra session. Since 2022\, I have provided weekly Yoga Nidra sessions for Hopewell Cancer Support Center and occasional Mindful Outdoor Experiences (MOEs). Additionally\, I work for Nature Worx\, a non-profit that provides MOEs to persons in recovery and the general public.

SUMMARY:Honoring the Gifts of Summer: A Sacred Circle Dance Gathering for Women (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:“Would love more of this type of program and would even suggest she expand to half or whole day retreats.” – Alice Jo Weaver \n“I appreciated seeing Sacred Dance in a different context. I have no suggestions for improvement.” – Jane Kerschner \n“I just really had no expectations and I loved all the dancing!” – a recent participant \n“The chance to engage the body in a spiritual practice was wonderful.” – a recent participant \nWe are delighted to welcome back Lisa Bardack\, Sacred Circle Dance Facilitator\, for another sacred circle dance gathering at the Well! \nIn Traditional Chinese Medicine\, the element associated with Summer is Fire\, and joy is the emotion of the Fire element. In this gathering\, we will dance to honor the gifts of Summer\, this active season of the heart. Through dance\, we will remind ourselves of the importance of nurturing the heart and cultivating love for ourselves and the world around us. We will dance to honor summer’s abundance and cultivate an expansive presence to the beauty and wonder that surrounds us. We will cultivate inner radiance\, our inner fire\, while dancing more meditative dances to bring necessary balance in these challenging times. \nTo learn more about sacred circle dance and Lisa\, please visit Lisa’s website at https://www.evokethesacred.com/. \nDATE: Saturday\, July 26\, 2025 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $40 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY: Please read our cancellation/refund policy here. It was in 1997 that she first experienced Sacred Circle Dance and fell in love with this collective experience of dancing ancient and traditional steps to wonderful music from around the world. She has studied Sacred Circle Dance for over 15 years through classes and conferences nationally and internationally and has been teaching since 2008. In addition to her background in dance\, Lisa has also studied yoga\, tai chi\, qigong\, NIA\, and other forms of dance\, cultivating a seasoned understanding of body movement as an instrument for joy\, healing\, and wisdom.

SUMMARY:Meditative Movement as a Path for Holy Listening (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:“This is definitely one of the best programs I’ve taken part in. Beth was well-prepared\, knew her subject and communicated extremely well. She was welcoming and allowed plenty of time for us to get to know one another. We experienced the perfect combination of facilitator\, topic and participants. It was a deeply meaningful afternoon for me and\, by all accounts\, for everyone present. Please encourage Beth to facilitate more programs!”- Kathy Shaw \n“A gentle day of heart-filled presence. Nothing needed to be changed or improved.” – A 2024 Participant \nWe are excited to welcome back Spiritual Companion and Retreat Facilitator\, Beth Wood-Roig\, for another session of Meditative Movement as a Path for Holy Listening. \nSpiritual traditions throughout the ages have understood that our bodies are truly wonderful sources for deep and holy listening. When we are tuned into and listening deeply to our physical bodies\, we connect with our holy source\, however that is defined for each of us. But in these chaotic and stressful times\, it is sometimes easy to miss\, forget or even ignore the messages our bodies are sending that signal something is out of balance. Learning to listen again and how to respond to these messages are important skills for all of us to practice. During our day together\, we will explore various forms of movement\, sometimes meditative\, sometimes silly\, hopefully fun\, and ever surprising\, to help us hone our listening and responding skills with our bodies. \nThere will also be time and space for personal contemplation and practice\, as well as group reflection and sharing. Weather permitting\, we may spend some time outside at the beautiful Well property so please dress appropriately. \nNo prior experience is needed\, just basic mobility. All movements can be modified for any fitness level. Please bring your own bag lunch. Please don’t hesitate! This program is limited to 10 participants. \nDATE: Saturday\, July 19\, 2025 \nTIME: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM \nCOST: $60 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY:  Please read our cancellation / refund policy here. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Beth Wood-Roig \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nBeth’s background includes many years leading contemplative retreats\, small group facilitation and spiritual companioning. She believes that we each experience the Divine in our own unique way. Her sense of the One is that of loving Presence\, holding us gently through all of life\, the joys\, surprises\, sorrows\, uncertainties\, worries\, fears\, and assurances. Her faith background is Unitarian Universalist\, with Christian and Buddhist leanings\, and she often finds spiritual grounding in body prayer and nature. Beth has completed certificates in Contemplative Leadership and in Spiritual Direction for Spiritual Guides\, both from Oasis Ministries for Spiritual Development\, based in Camp Hill\, PA. She enjoys gardening\, hiking\, reading\, body prayer and dance\, and spending time with her family and two kitties.

\nDATE: Sunday\, June 29\, 2025 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $50 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY:  Please read our cancellation/refund policy\, here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. Please be sure you have received and read this email a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the start of the program. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Jenny Ehrhardt \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nOver the last two years I have been fortunate to work with two other women facilitating sound offerings on the Eastern Shore.

SUMMARY:Walk Slowly: A Praying in Color Meditation on the Labyrinth (Online Program)
DESCRIPTION:Testimonials of past Praying in Color meditations with Facilitator\, Lorie Conway… \n“Lorie did a great job making a welcoming environment for the diverse group of participants.” – Maddy Shea \n“Lorie is always well-prepared with beautiful poems & has a very calm\, reassuring presence in these troubled times.” – Marie Cournoyer \n“Lorie sets a safe and comfortable space. Her comments are thoughtful and I still think about them. She is a caring and inspiring presence.” – Donna Mollenkopf \n“What a beautiful mediation practice! It is nice to have space held for this work. I loved it!” – Jennifer Ehrhardt \n“Oh do you have time to linger for just a little while out of your busy and very important day for the goldfinches that have gathered in a field of thistles…?” – Mary Oliver \nSummer! Once the season of longer days\, gentler rhythms\, and a slower pace\, summer can now too easily get caught up in an over-scheduled whirlwind that goes by in the blink of an eye and misses the goldfinches swaying on the thistle…if we let it. \nWe can choose a different way this summer. We can choose to linger with the goldfinches or our morning coffee\, to pause\, and to savor. We can choose to be intentional with our time and calendars. We can choose rest and joy as resistance to the hectic pace and surface turmoil that is rampant at this time in our history. \nYou are invited to join us for a contemplative meditation where we will ponder a different path for our summers. Using the complementary spiritual practices of Praying in Color and Walking the Labyrinth\, Lorie will guide us in a slow and reflective paper labyrinth “walk” using colorful writing utensils such as colored pencils\, markers\, crayons\, or pens. Just as praying with the labyrinth is not about walking but about experiencing your body moving along the path\, praying with color is not about art\, but about experiencing your hands holding a pencil moving along a piece of paper. Both practices invite us to let go of words\, sink deeper\, and engage our bodies in listening\, prayer\, and meditation. There will also be an opportunity to share our reflections with one another in sacred community\, as you feel led\, to deepen the experience. \nNo prior experience with the labyrinth\, praying in color\, or artistic skills are required! A paper labyrinth will be emailed to you to print in advance. All you need is the colorful writing utensils of your choice. Lorie will guide every step of these simple and meaningful spiritual practices. \nCome join us and start your summer at the pace you choose! \nDATE: Wednesday\, June 25\, 2025 \nTIME: 7:00 – 8:30 PM ET \nCOST: $20 \nLOCATION: ZOOM \nREGISTRATION is required: please register here. \nCANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY:  Please read our cancellation / refund policy here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. If you are unable to find the email\, please check your SPAM or JUNK email folders. SUMMARY:Yoga Nidra: Guided Meditation & Stillness (Online Program)
DESCRIPTION:Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice that helps to relax the mind and body by doing “nothing.” This ancient practice produces a profound state of relaxation just by listening. \nOne hour of Yoga Nidra is equal to four (4) hours of sleep. As the mind slows down\, our thoughts begin to move away from us. Yoga Nidra happens in the space between waking and sleeping. It’s like floating! You disengage from stress-producing thoughts\, allowing the body\, mind\, and spirit to rest and heal naturally. Modern studies have validated the benefits of Yoga Nidra; showing that a guided meditation is very effective in reducing anxiety\, stress\, and depression. \nResting comfortably in your own home\, the practice can be done lying down or in a seated position with your feet up. All you have to do is listen. These are the items you will need: \n· A quiet place to lay down or recline.\n· Pillow for head and under your knees.\n· Blanket for warmth.\n· If desired\, an eye mask or pillow to block light.\n· Water to drink. \nThe Well is thrilled to continue our relationship with certified Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide\, Yoga Instructor\, and I Am Yoga Nidra Facilitator\, Jamila Keita to offer this deeply healing and restorative practice. Most individuals report feelings of enhanced well-being\, calm and better sleep after each session. Many feel relaxed and energized. \nIf you are new to meditation\, never tried or been successful at meditation\, we encourage you to give Yoga Nidra a try. You will be amazed at how easily you will achieve a meditative state. \nThe sessions are being offered twice a month on a Monday and Tuesday evening. Give yourself (and maybe a loved one!) the gift of deep rest and relaxation this Spring. Your body will thank you! \nDATE: Mondays\, 4/7\, 5/12\, 6/9/25 and Tuesdays\, 4/22\, 5/27\, 6/24/25 \nTIME: 7:30 – 8:30 PM ET \nCOST: $15 per session \nLOCATION: ZOOM \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY: Please read our cancellation / refund policy\, here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. In the midst of the new season’s outward movement and the noise of a busy world\, how often do we pause to listen inward? \nYou are invited to join Spiritual Director and Coach\, Lisa Beacham\, for a Summer Seasonal Reset to honor the expansive energy of Summer and the powerful threshold of the Solstice. Take time to reconnect with your inner wisdom and reclaim what matters most as you shape the direction of the new season. \nThrough guided reflection and the Personal Heart Compass tool\, the Summer Seasonal Reset invites you to: \n· Reconnect with your heart\, inner wisdom\, and the divine light within\n· Release what no longer serves you from the past season\n· Reflect on your year so far and realign with your deepest intentions\n· Embrace the themes of Summer: expansion\, abundance\, creativity\, and joy\n· Acknowledge the Solstice as a sacred pause-a moment to shift\, re-center\, and envision the season ahead. \nWhether this is your first time working with Lisa or you’ve participated in her popular Returning to Center retreat or a previous Seasonal Reset\, you are warmly welcome. Three Seasonal Resets are being held this year as we transition from one season to the next. Each provides an opportunity to pause\, let go of the previous season and welcome and create intentions for the incoming season. \nJoin a community of like-hearted individuals for this two-hour online workshop designed to help you reset\, return to center\, and re-energize. Let’s welcome Summer with light\, joy\, and renewed purpose. \nDATE: Wednesday\, June 18\, 2025 \nTIME: 6:30 – 8:30 PM ET \nCOST: $40 \nLOCATION: ZOOM \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY:  Please read our cancellation / refund policy here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. SUMMARY:Horizons Men's Group - 2024-2025 (In-Person Program with Online Option)
DESCRIPTION:Most men do not feel they can talk freely about their spiritual journey. At the Well\, we feel differently. The Well’s Horizons Men’s Group is a place where honest conversations take place about how we live out our spirituality uniquely as men in the world – within our daily living. Past discussions have included the deconstruction and reconstruction of faith\, the first and second halves of life\, spirituality and imperfection\, why do bad things happen to good people\, and what can we learn from other faith traditions – just to name a few! \nThis season we will use Richard Rohr’s book\, Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life\, to help us enter a time of deeper conversations and a growing community. \nIf you are looking for a community where hard questions are welcomed and explored\, we have a place for you. Horizons meets on the third Tuesday of each month (October – June)\, from 7pm – 8:30pm. We will meet in-person with the option to “zoom in” for those who may not live close by or for those for whom “zooming” is more comfortable. Come check us out!\n\nDATE: Tuesdays – 10/15\, 11/19\, 12/17/24\, and 1/21\, 2/18\, 3/18\, 4/15\, 5/20\, and 6/17/25 \nTIME: 7:00 – 8:30 PM ET \nCOST: $195 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 and ZOOM \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION POLICY: Please read our cancellation policy\, here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from lorie@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. SUMMARY:Ancient Myths & Their Wisdom for Contemporary Spiritual Seekers (Online Series)
DESCRIPTION:“A myth… is a metaphor for a mystery beyond human comprehension. It is a comparison that helps us understand\, by analogy\, some aspect of our mysterious selves. A myth\, in this way of thinking\, is not an untruth but a way of reaching a profound truth.” ~ Christopher Vogler \nThe word myth is saturated with numerous\, sometimes negative connotations in contemporary times. Often\, it is associated with being an untruth or a fabricated statement. Yet\, this recent usage of the word ignores the rich\, timeless value for which myths were originally conceived. Join us for this multi-part series that will explore some of the world’s prominent mythologies in their original light and the deep spiritual wisdom cradled within them. Excerpts of myths will be gathered from the Egyptian\, Greek\, Chinese\, Celtic and Native American traditions amongst other cultures. Additional sources will include Michael Meade’s Awakening the Soul and his long-running podcast series\, Living Myth. \nWithin each session\, there will be abundant opportunities to creatively experience these myths and connect with the parallels they offer to contemporary spiritual seekers and their personal journeys. Centralizing themes from each of the featured mythologies will be highlighted in each session of the series. While pertinent information related to respective myths will be provided\, also woven throughout each session will be time for contemplative silence and meditation\, journaling\, personal reflection\, and group discussion. Participants will emerge from the series with a timely and deepened awareness about the gifts and relevance of myths and the healing role they can serve in cultivating understanding and peace in our world today. \nMythological journeys will unfold along the following schedule as we journey with diversely different cultures and traditions from around the world: \n· January 28th – Egyptian Mythology\n· February 25th – Greek Mythology\n· March 25th – Chinese Mythology\n· April 29th (5th Tuesday) – Celtic Mythology\n· May 27th – Native American Mythologies \nPlease Note: Attendance is encouraged in each session of this series\, however\, interested participants can register for one\, a few\, or all programs depending on personal preference and availability. \nDATE: Tuesdays – 1/28\, 2/25\, 3/25\, 4/29\, and 5/27/25 \nTIME: 1:00 – 3:00 PM ET \nCOST: $200 for Series or $45 per Session \nREGISTRAION is required; please register here. \n CANCELLATION POLICY: Please read our cancellation policy\, here.  \nLOCATION: ZOOM \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program.
This email will include details to help you prepare for your program including any pertinent handouts\, location information\, and the ZOOM link for online programs. Please be sure you have received and read this email a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the start of the program. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Jamila Keita \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nHi! \nI currently teach two yoga classes per week on Zoom. \nI never imagined this second career as it is\, but it seems like a natural evolution to me. I hope you enjoy my offerings.

SUMMARY:Group Spiritual Direction 2024-2025 with Cathy Rosensteel (In-Person & Online)
DESCRIPTION:Group Spiritual Direction is a process in which people gather together on a regular basis to assist one another in an ongoing awareness of God (Spirit\, Source\, Creator\, whatever your name is) in all of life. Participants in the group are seeking support for their responsiveness to God and they agree to support others in that same responsiveness. This contemplative approach to spiritual direction is grounded in the model that originated at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington\, DC. . \nJoining the group is a deep commitment to one’s spiritual journey and to the other participants in the group. Three conditions are essential to the life of the group. Members must agree to: \n· Commit themselves to an honest relationship with God\, by whatever name called.\n· Participate wholeheartedly in the group process through consistent attendance and prayerful listening and response.\n· Open their spiritual journeys for consideration by others. \nThe group is limited to five participants and is facilitated by Cathy Rosensteel. The group will meet both in-person at the Well and on Zoom as noted below. \nCathy’s group has space for one new person this year. If you are feeling urged to give Group Spiritual Direction a try\, please call the Well at 410-296-9355.
