SUMMARY:SOLD OUT: Honoring the Gifts of Spring - A Sacred Circle Dance Gathering for Women (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:This program has reached its capacity and is now sold out.  We have started a wait list should someone who is registered be unable to attend.  You may add your name to the wait list here.  Also – check back soon – two more Sacred Circle Dance programs will be added to our website this week! \n“Dancing with Lisa and others grounds and nurtures me in a way few other activities do.” – Past participant \n“This afternoon was very meaningful for me\, and I appreciate the opportunity to connect with mother Earth\, God‘s angels\, and the angels who attended and participated with me.” – Alice Jo Weaver \n“Always a joy to dance with Lisa. Sacred Circle Dance fills my cup in a way few other activities do.” – Sherri Philpott \n“THANK YOU so much for this program. It was very enjoyable.” – Past participant \nWe are delighted to welcome back Lisa Bardack\, Sacred Circle Dance Facilitator\, for another sacred circle dance gathering at the Well! \nSacred circle dance is a collective dance experience that draws from ancient and traditional folk dances\, many from Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Dancing to wonderful music and rhythms\, we join the circle of grandmothers who initiated these dances and passed them on. Dancing in their footsteps\, we experience a sense of something greater than ourselves\, a continuum of which we are a sacred part. Born from the Earth\, these dances connect us to the rhythms of the seasons and the cycles of life\, evoking a powerful sense of community and interconnection with each other and all life. \nIn this circle dance gathering\, we will honor the coming of spring. We are a sacred part of spring\, witnesses to her unfolding beauty and to our own unfolding. There is the promise of renewal and growth in spring\, a time to bring to fruition the seeds and visions we have been quietly cultivating in the winter months. We will move through dances that help us cultivate our creativity and sense of purpose\, and dances that will help to ground us in these turbulent times. We will dance\, as well\, to honor the transition from winter to spring\, the dance between stillness\, restlessness and action. Rooting into the ground as we rise up\, we will dance to cultivate the mindfulness needed to move forward into spring with greater peace\, clarity and joy. \nNo dance experience is required (just basic mobility and coordination)\, as the dances are simple to moderately easy\, and the step sequences repetitive. Lisa will gently guide us in the dance steps and share meaningful information on the origins of each dance. You can dance in bare feet\, socks\, or soft soled shoes. \nIf you love to dance\, or perhaps love the idea of sacred dance and are curious to learn more\, come and enjoy a beautiful afternoon of movement meditation in the safe and nurturing environment that is the Well! Registration is limited to 8 participants\, so please don’t delay! \nTo learn more about sacred circle dance and Lisa\, please visit Lisa’s website at https://www.evokethesacred.com/. \nDATE: Saturday\, March 7\, 2026 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $40 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION has reached capacity; You can join the wait list here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. SUMMARY:Deconstructing Your Faith\, Re-envisioning Your Spirituality (Online Program)
DESCRIPTION:“The combination of Greg and Gordon was awesome!!!” – Judy Wright \n“It was very well done\, a good mix of time together\, group breakouts and meditations. Greg and Gordon created an accepting and comfortable environment.” – Nancy \nDo you ever wonder about the image of God you are carrying?… Have you reached a place in your human journey where you are questioning the faith tradition that you have been a part of and its relevance to your spiritual journey?… Has the faith community/tradition you made a home in brought wounding\, confusion\, or despair to you in navigating the transitions and thresholds of your life?… \nIf the answer that arises within you as you ponder these questions is ‘yes\,’ please know that you are not alone. Current statistics reveal to us that in the United States the number of individuals who are affiliated with a particular faith tradition and/or denomination continue to decrease. Many people are questioning the role of religion in their lives and decidedly searching for alternatives to a worship community and complicated doctrines. \nIn this sacred pursuit\, more and more questions abound as humanity struggles to listen more deeply to God’s authentic voice in their everyday lives. In this listening\, many are discovering a divine invitation to pause and reconsider the meaning underlying this reality. Perhaps\, a way to move forward is to explore the possibility of deconstructing the faith we carry while re-envisioning the purpose and possibilities of what it means to live from our deeper spiritual identity. \nJoin Well for the Journey’s own Greg Cochran and Gordon Creamer for this online series\, where we will explore the pressing questions in our hearts around this wrestling with what it means to practice the faith we carry – or were taught to carry – while welcoming a deep\, unfed spiritual hunger. At this critical juncture in our personal and collective histories\, intentionally spending time in this way is not only an act of great self-compassion and care\, it can also become an embodied expression of healing for others whom we are connected to in the world. While in the presence of sacred and safe community\, each session will invite participants to engage in a period of contemplative silence around an excerpt from various wisdom writings\, such as bell hooks\, Richard Rohr\, Barbara Brown Taylor\, and Brian McLaren among others. Also included will be opportunities for personal reflection\, journaling\, small and large group conversations\, and other creative spiritual exercises. \nBelow offers a glimpse of what the emphasis will be for each of the sessions in this series:\nSession 1 – Creating a Sacred Space to Deconstruct & Querying the Purpose of Religion\nSession 2 – The Spiritual Nature of Being Human and Becoming\nSession 3 – Coming Home to Yourself\nSession 4 – Energizing Personal & Community Spiritual Practices\nSession 5 – Living Meaningfully in Spirit \nDATES: Mondays – 3/2\, 3/9\, 3/16\, 3/23\, 3/30/26 \nTIME: 6:30 – 8:30 PM ET \nCOST: Please choose the option that works best for you! (see registration link.) \nLOCATION: ZOOM \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. If you are unable to find the email\, please check your SPAM or JUNK email folders. This email will include details to help you prepare for your program including any pertinent handouts\, location information\, and the ZOOM link for online programs. Please be sure you have received and read this email a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the start of the program. Thank you! \nFACILITATORS: Greg Cochran and Gordon Creamer \nFACILITATOR BIOS: \nGreg Cochran \nGreg has been the Executive Director at Well for the Journey since 2010. SUMMARY:Exploring the Cup of Our Life (A six-part\, online series)
DESCRIPTION:In these tender and challenging times\, it is ever more important to understand how we can hold harmony and balance between our inner and outer lives. While using Joyce Rupp’s book\, The Cup of Our Life\, as a foundation\, we will use a simple cup as a metaphor for our lives. Perhaps you have a favorite cup to hold your morning beverage. Maybe it has a few chips from being used so often. Or perhaps there is a beloved cup that has broken and been put back together with love. All of these cups can act as metaphors for times in our lives. \nDuring our gatherings\, we will examine how we fill our cup with intention\, and what we pour out of our cup into our own lives as well as the lives of those around us. As the seasons of life change\, so does the need to empty from our cup that which no longer serves us and fill it with those things that will help us meet the next season more fully. We must discern what to keep\, what to let go of and what to add to meet ourselves in the fullness of our lives. \nJoin Spiritual Companion and Retreat Facilitator\, Beth Wood-Roig\, for this soul-nourishing and enriching winter series from the warmth and comfort of your home. Each week\, Beth will invite reflection on a different image of the cup\, such as the open cup\, the chipped cup\, the broken cup\, and the cup of compassion\, encouraging insight into how we live with intention and harmony. It is not necessary to purchase or read the book. Simply bring your favorite cup and an openness to discover all that this simple tool can offer. \nDATES: Tuesdays – 2/3\, 2/10\, 2/17\, 2/24\, 3/3\, 3/10/26 \nTIME: 7:00 – 8:30 PM ET \nCOST: $120 \nLOCATION: ZOOM \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. What is your meaningful spiritual and life legacy? SUMMARY:Group Spiritual Direction: Listening for the Sacred Together (In-Person with online sessions in winter)
DESCRIPTION:“I have been a part of this group for two years. Once a month\, I find respite in my busy life to connect with the divine as I understand it. Cathy holds a container that allows for deep reflection in community with other spiritual seekers.” – Rev. Karyn Marsh \n________________________________________________________ \n“We are all just walking each other home.” \n– Rumi \nDo you yearn for a deeper connection to God\, Spirit\, the Divine? Perhaps you sense an inkling that there is something more wanting to be explored – whether you come from a formal faith tradition or none at all. \nGroup Spiritual Direction (GSD) offers a safe\, sacred space for individuals to gather in community\, slow down\, and listen deeply—for the movement of the Spirit in their lives and in each other. Unlike therapy or problem-solving groups\, spiritual direction is a contemplative practice rooted in the belief that the Divine is already present and available in each person’s journey. \nIn this group\, faith traditions vary in formality and intensity\, some may have none\, and their name for God may differ\, but all are deeply committed to exploring their spiritual paths and supporting the spiritual journeys of each group member. The intent is not to ‘fix’ or advise\, but to listen attentively\, and as members caringly share what they feel and hear\, they help each other look\, with a finer lens\, at their own spiritual relationship. Gently guided by long-time Spiritual Director\, Cathy Rosensteel\, the group cultivates compassion\, connection\, and clarity\, helping each person notice the movement of Spirit in their lives. \nSeptember through November and March through May\, Cathy’s group starts their time together with a few minutes of conversation in the kitchen at Well for the Journey. During the colder months\, December – February\, they gather on Zoom from the coziness of their homes. When at the Well\, the group transitions from the kitchen to the living room to form a contemplative\, confidential and sacred listening circle. Using the GSD process formed at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington\, DC.\, Cathy invites the group with an opening reflection from a variety of sources\, such as\, Scripture\, poetry\, texts\, and/or prose and a time of gentle silence. When ready\, members share a response flowing from their deep listening and curiosity. This simple format\, repeated throughout each session\, invites meaningful conversation and deepening. The session closes with the sharing of prayer intentions. \nWhether you’re seeking a deeper relationship with the Sacred by whatever name\, navigating a life transition\, in need of discernment\, curious about that nagging inkling\, or simply yearning to be seen and heard in a soulful way\, GSD provides a space for deep listening\, soulful reflection\, and support for your unfolding path. \nIf you would like to join Cathy’s group or simply want to know more\, please contact the Well at 410-296-9355 or email us at programming@wellforthejourney.org. Please provide your name and phone number and Cathy will be in touch to discuss your interest. \n________________________________________________________ \n\n“I have been a member of Cathy’s spiritual direction group since the fall of 2020. Each session I jot down what speaks to me. Recently I went back and typed up my notes and then created this word cloud. Every session sparks deeper thinking and honest reflection for me. I look forward to our gathering each month.” – Becky Boynton \n \nDATES (In-Person at the Well): Saturdays – 9/13\, 10/11\, 11/8/25 and 3/14\, 4/11\, 5/9/26 \nDATES (Online via Zoom): Saturdays – 12/13/25 and 1/10\, 2/14/26 \nTIME: 8:30 – 11:30 AM \nCOST: $250 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 and ZOOM \nTO REGISTER: Please contact the Well at 410-296-9355 or email us at programming@wellforthejourney.org.  We will put you in touch with Cathy so that you may chat and determine if  this program is a mutual fit.  Once that happens and if you’d like to move forward\, we will provide you with a sign up link. \nFACILITATOR: Cathy Rosensteel \nFACILITATOR BIO:\nCathy facilitates group spiritual direction in the Shalem tradition at The Well. She has an M.A. in Spiritual Direction and Pastoral Care from Loyola University Maryland. Kindled by a week-long silent Ignatian retreat\, she developed a deep appreciation for silence and the Spiritual Exercises. Furthering her interest\, she completed the 19th Annotation of the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life.
SUMMARY:Horizons Men's Group 2025-2026 (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:Most men do not feel they can talk freely about their spiritual journey. At Well For The Journey\, we feel differently. The Horizons Men’s Group at the Well is a place where honest conversations take place about how we live out our spirituality uniquely as men in the world – within our daily living. \nGreg Cochran\, Executive Director at the Well\, has been facilitating Horizons for over ten years. Past discussions have explored a wide range of topics including the deconstruction and reconstruction of faith\, navigating the first and second halves of life\, spirituality and imperfection\, why do bad things happen to good people\, what is Truth\, and what can we learn from other faith traditions – just to name a few! \nThis season\, the wisdom of Parker Palmer will inform our conversation through two of his books: \nA Hidden Wholeness: The Journey Toward an Undivided Life – explores the concept of living an “undivided life”—where one’s inner truth aligns with their outer actions and roles. \nLet Your Life Speak: Listening for the Voice of Vocation – explores what it means to find one’s true calling by deeply listening to one’s inner self and aligning with one’s authentic nature\, emphasizing that vocation isn’t a specific job title\, but rather a way of living authentically and embracing our unique gifts and limitations. \nDue to high interest\, we are pleased to offer two monthly groups this year – both graciously led by Greg! The Tuesday evening group will meet in-person at the Well and the Thursday evening group will meet online via Zoom. \nIf you are looking for a community where difficult questions are welcomed and explored from the unique perspective of male spirituality\, we have a place for you in Horizons. \nThis registration is for the in-person session on Tuesday evenings. \nDATES: Tuesdays – 10/14\, 11/18\, 12/16/25\, and 1/20\, 2/17\, 3/17\, 4/21\, 5/19\, and 6/9/26 \nTIME: 7:00 – 8:30 PM \nCOST: $200 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. SUMMARY:Accessing Divine Guidance: Delving Deeper with Your Personal Intuition (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:Many of us have spent a lifetime relying on our minds—its beliefs\, patterns\, and need for certainty—occasionally aware of our intuition but not fully trusting it with confidence. Some may not feel intuitive at all. In a culture that often prizes logic and evidence over inner knowing\, we’ve learned to ignore the subtle messages of our inner knowing in favor of an ego-driven mind filled with beliefs\, fears\, habits\, and overstimulation. \nWe are thrilled to welcome beloved Well facilitator\, Maggie Lears\, for another session exploring our personal intuition. In this program\, Maggie offers sacred space to learn how to tune back into our intuition—our natural sensory system—and to be a compassionate witness to this world through a heart-centered lens. We are all born as highly intuitive beings. It is the language of our soul—the voice of the Divine within—and it’s always communicating with us. Intuitive principles are implicit in all religions\, philosophies\, and worldviews. This program will help you to deepen confidence in your ability to access your inner wisdom and to discover how to live your daily life and soul’s purpose as an intuitive practitioner. \nDuring our time together\, we will learn about and engage in attunement practices for strengthening our intuition such as meditation\, breathwork\, and other contemplative practices. We will also explore practices such as intuitive eating\, moving our bodies\, and living in the rhythm of our planet’s seasons. We will share in large group discussions\, small group conversations\, and short meditative exercises to ascertain ways that we can naturally access the intuitive messages of our souls. \nIntuitive development is a journey—and one available to all. Whether you participated in Maggie’s Introduction to Intuition last Fall or are just beginning to explore this topic\, you are warmly invited to join us in deepening your intuitive life. \nDATE: Thursday – 3/19/26 \nTIME: 1:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $50 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD \nREGISTRATION is required.  Please REGISTER HERE.
SUMMARY:SOLD OUT: An Ancient and Inspiring Incense-Making Ritual: A Bridge Between the Material & Spiritual Worlds (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:This program has reached it’s capacity and is now sold out.  We have created a wait list just in case someone who is registered is unable to attend.  You may join the wait list here. \nSince ancient times\, humans in many cultures and faith traditions have burned sacred plants as a way of honoring the invisible—allowing fragrant smoke to carry prayers and messages to the ancestors\, while inviting deep peace and calmness into meditation and prayer practices. \nJoin herbalist Jenny Ehrhardt\, aka “The Herb Lady\,” for a deeply experiential afternoon rooted in plant wisdom\, ritual\, and creative presence. Known for her Sound Baths at the Well and her recent Feisty Fire Cider workshop\, Jenny brings a grounded and heart-centered approach to working with the natural world. \nIn this new workshop\, Jenny will again share her love of plants and rituals as she leads participants in the ancient act of incense making. Using raw\, local plant material that is thriving in this season—cedar\, pine\, and juniper—participants will create incense cones in alignment with the energies of the earth and cosmos. \nThe gathering will begin with a short\, guided meditation to settle into the rhythms of creating for oneself while in community. Jenny will provide a brief history about incense\, the varieties that exist\, and why incense is used across many cultures and ceremonies\, with a specific focus on the properties of cedar\, juniper and pine. \nParticipants will then create their own incense cones from these special plant materials while learning several methods for burning them as part of their meditation practice. Participants will leave with their handmade incense cones\, a special herbal blend\, and a charcoal circle for use at home. \nAll materials are provided for this special afternoon of creativity and community. Space is limited so please register early to assure your seat! \nDATE: Sunday\, March 29\, 2026 \nTIME: 1:30 – 3:30 PM \nCOST: $90 \nREGISTRATION is now at capacity; you may join the wait list here. \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Jenny Ehrhardt \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nOver the last 35 years my heart has been engaged with plants of all kinds. Even as a child we always had a huge garden. We grew everything. As my Dad shifted to loving roses and all flowers\, I know that just stayed with me. \nI feel so honored and humbled to work with the plants. I worked for a small flower farmer\, a landscaping company\, and a service farm where everything we grew went directly to the Maryland Food Bank and other kitchens throughout Baltimore. I then worked for a Naturopathic Doctor and began to learn how to process plants into medicine and honestly have not looked back. For 15 years I worked at farmers markets and festivals selling products that I created for 10 of those years. I had my very own Apothecary in Hampden\, serving my community with affordable herbal remedies and also offering a safe space for people to gather and learn. \nIt is very important to me to meet people where they are on this herbal plant walk. It is a remembering\, an awakening to what our bodies and hearts already know if we listen closely to ourselves and keep it very simple. Those earlier years were very full and somewhat hectic. Today I find I am so grateful to be able to slow down and watch the wonder on people’s faces when they start to remember plants and the memories that begin to rise up.

SUMMARY:Anam Cara – A Soul Care Group for Spiritual Caregivers (Online Program - Morning Group)
DESCRIPTION:“I have appreciated having a space with people\, colleagues…The ability to walk and journal\, having that time carved out so other things don’t get in the way of it is helpful.” – Rev Andy McClain\n \n“I needed a community where I could be myself as an African American woman…Our Anam Cara group became the place where I could be just that. Authenticity and integrity seemed to be primary values for the group from the first time I entered.” – Rev. Freda Marie Brown\n \n“…I loved the opportunity to share new thoughts and ideas as I underwent my own spiritual transformation. I loved the openness and the refreshing way we all supported each other’s voices\, accepting with interest and love whatever was being offered\, without judgement.  – Rev. Freda Marie Brown\n \nI value opportunities for creativity\, contemplation\, and connection…and for curiosity about how it goes with each participant: How goes retirement? How goes vocational discernment? How goes caring for loved ones? How goes raising children?” – Rev. Clare Petersberger\n \n“Our Anam Cara gatherings remind me to mark the time through the changing seasons of the year and of our lives with soul friends. For all of these are holy things we will not\, cannot\, find again.” – Rev Clare Petersberger\n  \nCaring for others can be deeply meaningful—and deeply depleting. For ministers\, chaplains\, spiritual companions\, and others who offer soul care\, the act of holding sacred space for others can come at the cost of your own spiritual nourishment. The Well’s Anam Cara (Soul Friend) Group is a space created just for you—a place to receive the care you regularly encourage for others – soul care. \nThis small group\, sacred community welcomes spiritual caregivers (active\, retired\, or on sabbatical) to rest\, reflect\, and be. There are no roles to fill or responsibilities to carry.
Her work in this area includes leading retreats on finding silence in everyday living and walking the labyrinth. Through private practice\, Cathy is honored to provide individual spiritual direction in the Middle River and Towson areas. \nCathy’s background includes teaching teacher education candidates and directing the Special Education programs at Loyola University Maryland. She also had a notable career developing innovative programs for students with special needs\, as a teacher and administrator with the Baltimore City Public School System. \nDrawn to the outdoors\, Cathy treasures time at home on Seneca Creek with her husband and dog. SUMMARY:Sound Soul Weaving: - A Seated Sound Bath Experience (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:This program has reached it’s seating capacity and is now sold out.  We have set up a wait list just in case someone who is registered is unable to attend. You may also want to register early for our future Sound Bath Experiences scheduled for June 14\, July 15\, and/or August 9. Note that this program has sold out each time we have offered it… so if you are interested in experiencing our seated sound bath\, don’t wait to register. \nThe practice of sound bathing has gained popularity recently but is actually a healing practice that is thousands of years old with deep roots in cultures around the world. Jenny Ehrhardt has been facilitating sound offerings for several years\, incorporating her first love as an herbalist into all that she offers. Integrating sound using crystal chakra bowls\, bells\, song\, and rattles with plants and sweetness from the earth\, opens our hearts and nourishes the soul for the healing of the world. What a perfect combination for the Well community and all who seek soul nourishment and healing for self and others! \nWe are thrilled to welcome Jenny back to the Well for another session of healing\, renewal and nourishment. Jenny will offer a time of stillness\, sacred listening\, reflection\, and alignment with spirit that invites us to take care of ourselves as well as send love and peace out into the world through our vibrations\, prayers and the collective spiritual intention of a sacred community. \nYou will be seated for this session which will begin with a time of introduction and honoring of each participant\, inviting plant spirit connection to our intentions/prayers and sound healing meditation. Healing sound helps break up trauma in the body and assists in releasing whatever no longer serves us. This is so important in our culture and world today. At the end of the session\, Jenny will share seasonal herbal tea and a sweet offering to help integrate and embody the experience. \nWe are thrilled that Jenny found the Well (literally in her own neighborhood!) and is sharing her gifts of love and presence now as part of the Well community. We invite you to join Jenny and trust this ancient healing process of soul sound weaving for the renewal of your body\, mind and spirit and the nourishment of your soul. \nPlease don’t delay! Jenny’s Sound Soul Weaving sessions at the Well sell out every time! \nDATE: Sunday\, April 12\, 2026 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $50 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. I have seen so many beautiful effects this work has had on so many people\, including myself. I feel honored to be working with the bowls and other sounds to help connect us to something much deeper\, Ourselves. Working with all ages on many different levels\, I see the peace come over most people in a very surprising way. I have been called to create small\, intimate sound offerings right here in my hometown. I am grateful to have found Well for the Journey\, which has become such a sacred place for me. I work deeply with the plants as well and had a small shoppe in Hampden for over 10 years. I have been called to service and I love plants\, sound\, and people who are open to change and learning and being in a community without judgement. Pure Hearts\, I feel this at Well For the Journey and look forward to connecting more and sharing and learning through sound and the plants.
