SUMMARY:Journaling Your Magical Life (Online Program)
DESCRIPTION:If we look deeply\, every aspect of life has something magical about it and we hold the key to what is ‘our own magic’. Based on a commencement speech given by Brad Meltzer\, American novelist\, a series of journaling sessions with guided prompts will explore four “magic tricks”: making something appear\, making something disappear\, making two things switch places\, and changing one thing into something else. Each ‘trick’ has the potential to integrate journaling opportunities to reflect on and enhance life skills that encourage each of us be the best version of ourselves. \nOur session themes are: \nOctober 25th – Making Something Appear\nThe session will explore how we make choices to surround ourselves with people and experiences that provide support and encouragement to highlight our best traits. Pausing to examine times in our lives where people and experiences have been valuable is key to promoting spiritual growth. \nNovember 8th – Making Something Disappear\nThe session will explore challenges in our lives. Embracing a challenge can promote self-knowledge and equip us with the necessary strategies to harness our fears. Many times overcoming a fear leads to renewed strength and resilience. \nNovember 22nd – Making Two Things Switch Places\nThe session will explore how compassion for others is essential to life. Every person we encounter is battling something and many times you cannot ‘see it’. Finding empathy requires switching places with others to understand their journey and the value of your impact on the lives of others. \nDecember 6th – Changing One Thing Into Something Else\nThe session will explore the need to continue to pursue knowledge and growth to promote real change in our lives. It is essential to never stop striving for personal transformation and not get locked into a permanent state of being. \nYou are warmly invited to join experienced journaling facilitator\, Liz Neal\, to deepen your journaling practice or start a new one! No previous writing or journaling experience is required. You may join the entire series at a discounted rate or join one or more individual sessions. We look forward to a magical journaling journey with you at the Well! \nDATE: Fridays – 10/25\, 11/8\, 11/22\, 12/6/24 \nTIME: 1:00 – 2:30 PM ET \nCOST: $100 for the series of 4 sessions or $30 per session \nLOCATION: ZOOM \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION POLICY:  Please read our cancellation policy\, here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from lorie@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. If you are unable to find the email\, please check your SPAM or JUNK email folders. This email will include details to help you prepare for your program including any pertinent handouts\, location information\, and the ZOOM link for online programs. SUMMARY:SOLD OUT: Sound Soul Weaving: Discovering the Gift of Yourself in the Holiday Season (In-Person Sound Bath)
DESCRIPTION:This program has reached capacity.  If you’d like to add your name to the wait list\, please do so here.\n \nSome of the glowing testimonials from our Sound Bath at the Well held in September 2024… \n\n“Would love more sound baths. Jenny Ehrhardt was amazing!” – Cynthia Shapiro\n \n“My enjoyment of this program was a 10! The deep resonance of the gong\, the gentle chime of the bells\, the singing of the bowls – oh my gosh! What a beautiful experience! PLEASE offer this again.” – Charlotte\n \n“The group was wonderful and seemed very comfortable with one another. I think Jenny did an excellent job making everyone feel comfortable – whether it was your first time or a frequent program participant. Maggie warmly welcomed everyone – I think it set the stage for a positive experience.” - Elisa Ghinger\n \n“Amazing how she created a sacred and meditative space. Loved it!” – Arianne Rice\n \n\nThe practice of sound bathing has gained popularity recently but is actually a healing practice that is thousands of years old with deep roots in cultures around the world. Well Facilitator\, Jenny Ehrhardt\, has been creating sound offerings for the past two years\, incorporating her first love as an herbalist into all that she offers. By integrating sound using crystal chakra bowls\, bells\, song\, and rattles along with the gifts of plants and sweetness from the earth\, Jenny strives to open hearts and help nourish souls for the healing of the world. What a perfect combination for the Well community and all who seek soul nourishment and healing for self and others! \nWe are thrilled to welcome Jenny back to the Well for another session of healing\, renewal and nourishment during this sacred\, yet all too busy\, holiday season. Jenny will offer a time of stillness\, sacred listening\, reflection\, and alignment with spirit that invites us to take care of ourselves as well as send love and peace out into the world through our vibrations\, prayers and the collective spiritual intention of a sacred community. What a gentle and beautiful way to pause in the midst of the holidays and reclaim the intention of the season for you. \nWe will begin with a time of introduction and honoring of each participant\, inviting plant spirit connection to our intentions/prayers and sound healing meditation. Healing sound helps break up trauma in the body and assists in releasing whatever no longer serves us. This is so important in our culture and world today. At the end of the session\, Jenny will share seasonal herbal tea and a sweet offering to help integrate and embody the experience. \nTreat yourself\, and perhaps someone you love\, to this sumptuous gift of self-care. Please don’t delay! Jenny’s Sound Soul Weaving session at the Well in September sold out in just a few days! \nDATE: Sunday\, December 8\, 2024 \nTIME: 1:30 – 3:30 PM \nCOST: $45 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is at capacity; you may add your name to our waitlist here. \nCANCELLATION POLICY: Please read our cancellation policy\, here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from lorie@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Jenny Ehrhardt \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nOver the last two years I have been fortunate to work with two other women facilitating sound offerings on the Eastern Shore. I have seen so many beautiful effects this work has had on so many people\, including myself. I feel honored to be working with the bowls and other sounds to help connect us to something much deeper\, Ourselves. Working with all ages on many different levels\, I see the peace come over most people in a very surprising way. I have been called to create small\, intimate sound offerings right here in my hometown. I am grateful to have found Well for the Journey\, which has been such a sacred place for me this past year. I work deeply with the plants as well and had a small shoppe in Hampden for over 10 years. I have been called to service and I love plants\, sound\, and people who are open to change and learning and being in a community without judgement. Pure Hearts\, I feel this at Well For the Journey and look forward to connecting more and sharing and learning through sound and the plants.

SUMMARY:Yoga Nidra – Guided Meditation & Stillness (Online Program)
DESCRIPTION:Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice that helps to relax the mind and body by doing “nothing.” This ancient practice produces a profound state of relaxation just by listening. \nOne hour of Yoga Nidra is equal to four (4) hours of sleep. As the mind slows down\, our thoughts begin to move away from us. Yoga Nidra happens in the space between waking and sleeping. It’s like floating! You disengage from stress-producing thoughts\, allowing the body\, mind\, and spirit to rest and heal naturally. Modern studies have validated the benefits of Yoga Nidra; showing that a guided meditation is very effective in reducing anxiety\, stress\, and depression. \nResting comfortably in your own home\, the practice can be done lying down or in a seated position with your feet up. All you have to do is listen. These are the items you will need: \n· A quiet place to lay down or recline.\n· Pillow for head and under your knees.\n· Blanket for warmth.\n· If desired\, an eye mask or pillow to block light.\n· Water to drink. \nThe Well is thrilled to continue our relationship with certified Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide\, Yoga Instructor\, and I Am Yoga Nidra Facilitator\, Jamila Keita to offer this deeply healing and restorative practice. Most individuals report feelings of enhanced well-being\, calm and better sleep after each session. Many feel relaxed and energized. \nIf you are new to meditation\, never tried or been successful at meditation\, or an experienced meditator\, we encourage you to give Yoga Nidra a try. You will be amazed at how easily you will achieve a meditative state. \nThe sessions are being offered twice a month on a Monday and Tuesday evening. You are welcome to purchase one session at a time or choose from three series options at a discounted rate – all sessions\, all Mondays\, or all Tuesdays. \nDATES: Mondays – 9/16\, 10/14\, 11/4\, 12/9/24\, 1/13/25 and Tuesdays – 9/24\, 10/29\, 11/12\, 12/17/24\, 1/28/25 \nTIME: 7:30 – 8:30 PM ET \nCOST: $15 per session\, All 10 sessions for $135\, All Monday sessions for $70\, or All Tuesday sessions for $70 \nLOCATION: ZOOM \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION POLICY:  Please read our cancellation policy\, here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from lorie@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. This email will include details to help you prepare for your program including any pertinent handouts\, location information\, and the ZOOM link for online programs. Please be sure you have received and read this email a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the start of the program. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Jamila Keita \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nHi! My name is Evangeline “Jamila” Keita. I’ve been practicing yoga for almost 25 years and decided to teach yoga as my “retirement job.” It was during my yoga training (YT200) that I was introduced to Yoga Nidra. Immediately after completing YT200 in 2014\, I took my first Yoga Nidra training. Since that time\, I’ve taken subsequent trainings in Yoga Nidra in 2017 and 2021. I love this practice. \nDuring the shutdown\, I found “nature therapy.” This led me to complete a course through “The Kripalu School of Outdoor Leadership” and become a KMOG (Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide). \nI currently teach two yoga classes per week on Zoom. Each class includes poses and a short Yoga Nidra session. Since 2022\, I have provided weekly Yoga Nidra sessions for Hopewell Cancer Support Center and occasional Mindful Outdoor Experiences (MOEs). Additionally\, I work for Nature Worx\, a non-profit that provides MOEs to persons in recovery and the general public. \nI never imagined this second career as it is\, but it seems like a natural evolution to me. I hope you enjoy my offerings.

SUMMARY:Seven Sacred Pauses for Life's Daily Pilgrimage (Online Program Meeting Monthly)
DESCRIPTION:“All it takes is a simple\, sacred pause to get us in touch with the One who keeps vigil with us – the holy presence of so many names. Only you can name that which waits for you.” – Macrina Wiederkehr \nNo matter what spiritual path we follow\, we are all pilgrims together on each day’s journey. The details of our daily pilgrimage differ one from another\, but we all hope for a good day as we awake and move through the day with whatever joys and challenges await us. In her classic book\, Seven Sacred Pauses – Living Mindfully Through the Hours of the Day\, Macrina Wiederkehr invites us to embrace the rich tradition of consciously pausing at seven sacred moments of each day so that our daily passage through time is more of a sacred pilgrimage than one long To Do List. She encourages us to stay awake through the day\, “Each morning as I look out my window\, I want to be awake enough to say\, today I will remember to pause.” \nYou are invited to journey through the hours with spiritual companion and retreat leader\, Lorie Conway\, as we explore ways to practice pausing that recognize the busyness\, clutter\, noise\, and chaos that are rampant in our culture\, while gently encouraging us to be creators of our present moment. Each month will explore a different hour of the day and engage with contemplative spiritual practices that may be well suited for that time. We will use Wiederkehr’s book as a guide to the hours as we engage poetry\, music\, reflections\, and sacred text from an array of spiritual teachers and traditions. Please note\, it is not necessary to read the book as it is only one of many resources that will be utilized. \nOur monthly topics include:\n· September 26th – Introduction to Sacred Pausing\n· October 24th – The Awakening Hour – Dawn\n· November 21st – The Blessing Hour – Midmorning\n· December 12th – The Hour of Illumination – Midday\n· January 23rd – The Wisdom Hour – Midafternoon\n· February 20th – The Twilight Hour – Evening\n· March 20th – The Great Silence – Night\n· April 24th – The Night Watch – Midnight Until Dawn \nYou are welcome to join us for one\, many\, or all of the 8 monthly sessions. Lorie encourages you to join the first one\, if possible\, as it lays the groundwork for subsequent months. If you are unable to join the first one\, no worries! A handout will be provided to give you foundational information. \nDATES: Thursdays – 9/26\, 10/24\, 11/21\, 12/12/24\, and 1/23\, 2/20\, 3/20\, 4/24/25 \nTIME: 2:00 – 3:30 PM ET \nCOST: $35 per session or $250 for all 8 sessions \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION POLICY:  Please read our cancellation policy\, here. \nLOCATION: ZOOM \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from lorie@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. SUMMARY:Group Spiritual Direction 2024-2025 with Cathy Rosensteel (In-Person & Online)
DESCRIPTION:Group Spiritual Direction is a process in which people gather together on a regular basis to assist one another in an ongoing awareness of God (Spirit\, Source\, Creator\, whatever your name is) in all of life. Participants in the group are seeking support for their responsiveness to God and they agree to support others in that same responsiveness. This contemplative approach to spiritual direction is grounded in the model that originated at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington\, DC. . \nJoining the group is a deep commitment to one’s spiritual journey and to the other participants in the group. Three conditions are essential to the life of the group. Members must agree to: \n· Commit themselves to an honest relationship with God\, by whatever name called.\n· Participate wholeheartedly in the group process through consistent attendance and prayerful listening and response.\n· Open their spiritual journeys for consideration by others. \nThe group is limited to five participants and is facilitated by Cathy Rosensteel. The group will meet both in-person at the Well and on Zoom as noted below. \nCathy’s group has space for one new person this year. If you are feeling urged to give Group Spiritual Direction a try\, please call the Well at 410-296-9355. We will connect you with Cathy so that you can discuss your interest with her. \nDATES (In-Person at the Well): Saturdays – 9/28\, 10/12\, 11/9/24 and 3/8\, 4/12\, 5/10/25 \nDATES (Online via Zoom): Saturdays – 12/14/24 and 1/11\, 2/8/25 \nTIME: 8:30 – 11:00 AM \nCOST: $250 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. SUMMARY:SOLD OUT: Journeying with Mary & Elizabeth: The Blessings of an Advent Community (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:This program is now at capacity.  We have created a wait list just in case someone is unable to attend. \nA couple of testimonials from last year’s Advent Retreat facilitated by Lorie Conway… \n“This was one of the best\, if not the best\, one day retreat I’ve ever attended. The setting\, the material itself\, the readings\, the small groups\, the simple activities\, the private time were in perfect balance. The book is full of riches; Lorie had to make difficult choices and did so beautifully. The stories that were not chosen this time await their turn in future Advent retreats. I hope Lorie will lead them.” \n– Mary Beth\n \n“This retreat was perfect for me. It settled me into Advent\, slowed me down\, and created a space for introspection and reflection. I loved it!!!” – Judy Wright\n  \nIn the Christian tradition\, Advent is the season of waiting and preparing for Jesus to be born. It’s a time of great anticipation! No one was filled with more anticipation than Mary\, the mother of Jesus. In her frightening position as an unwed pregnant teenager\, Mary reaches out for help to her cousin\, Elizabeth\, who is also expecting a baby under some rather unusual circumstances. \nIn Elizabeth\, Mary finds blessing\, acceptance\, and sanctuary. In Mary\, Elizabeth finds joy\, companionship\, and support. As Mary and Elizabeth await the arrival of their babies\, they form a loving community that helps alleviate some of the fear\, uncertainty\, and anxiety of their unknown futures and that of their children. \nAlthough our circumstances are different than those in first century Palestine\, our longing and need for community is just as potent as we wonder and worry about the unknown future of our hurting world. With Mary and Elizabeth as guides for our journey\, we will gather in loving and sacred community\, listening deeply for the blessings of the season in the midst of our unknown. \nYou are invited to join us for this Advent day of retreat in sacred community at the Well. Our time together will include contemplative spiritual practices\, reflection\, periods of silence\, and community sharing. A simple lunch of soup and bread will be provided. \nDATE: Saturday\, December 14\, 2024 \nTIME: 9:30AM – 4:00PM \nCOST: Early Bird Discount (purchased prior to 11/11) – $60; Regular Cost (purchased 11/11/24 and after) – $70. Lunch is included. \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is at capacity; you can join our wait list here. \nCANCELLATION POLICY: Please read our cancellation policy\, here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from lorie@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. SUMMARY:Horizons Men's Group - 2024-2025 (In-Person Program with Online Option)
DESCRIPTION:Most men do not feel they can talk freely about their spiritual journey. At the Well\, we feel differently. The Well’s Horizons Men’s Group is a place where honest conversations take place about how we live out our spirituality uniquely as men in the world – within our daily living. Past discussions have included the deconstruction and reconstruction of faith\, the first and second halves of life\, spirituality and imperfection\, why do bad things happen to good people\, and what can we learn from other faith traditions – just to name a few! \nThis season we will use Richard Rohr’s book\, Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life\, to help us enter a time of deeper conversations and a growing community. \nIf you are looking for a community where hard questions are welcomed and explored\, we have a place for you. Horizons meets on the third Tuesday of each month (October – June)\, from 7pm – 8:30pm. We will meet in-person with the option to “zoom in” for those who may not live close by or for those for whom “zooming” is more comfortable. Come check us out!\n\nDATE: Tuesdays – 10/15\, 11/19\, 12/17/24\, and 1/21\, 2/18\, 3/18\, 4/15\, 5/20\, and 6/17/25 \nTIME: 7:00 – 8:30 PM ET \nCOST: $195 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W.
If you are unable to find the email\, please check your SPAM or JUNK email folders. This email will include details to help you prepare for your program including any pertinent handouts\, location information\, and the ZOOM link for online programs.
