SUMMARY:Group Spiritual Direction 2024-2025 with Cathy Rosensteel (In-Person & Online)
DESCRIPTION:Group Spiritual Direction is a process in which people gather together on a regular basis to assist one another in an ongoing awareness of God (Spirit\, Source\, Creator\, whatever your name is) in all of life. Participants in the group are seeking support for their responsiveness to God and they agree to support others in that same responsiveness. This contemplative approach to spiritual direction is grounded in the model that originated at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington\, DC. . \nJoining the group is a deep commitment to one’s spiritual journey and to the other participants in the group. Three conditions are essential to the life of the group. Members must agree to: \n· Commit themselves to an honest relationship with God\, by whatever name called.\n· Participate wholeheartedly in the group process through consistent attendance and prayerful listening and response.\n· Open their spiritual journeys for consideration by others. \nThe group is limited to five participants and is facilitated by Cathy Rosensteel. The group will meet both in-person at the Well and on Zoom as noted below. \nCathy’s group has space for one new person this year. SUMMARY:Intuition: Living Into Your Soul’s Knowing (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:“Intuition is the song of my soul.” – Lori Lipten\, Intuitive Practitioner & Author \nWe are born as highly intuitive beings. Our first language is intuition\, it is the language of our soul\, and it is always communicating with us. Our intuition often feels like it’s in the background because we are usually operating from our ego mind-beliefs\, fears\, trauma\, habits\, and overstimulation. \nEveryone is intuitive and intuition is a normal way to communicate. It is implicit in all religions\, philosophies\, and worldviews. It’s as natural as breathing. Unfortunately\, we also live in a culture that favors logic/evidence over intuition. As children\, we are not taught to value our intuition and as a result\, we may have discounted our own feelings or hunches\, suppressing development of intuition. \nIntuition is the ‘song of our souls’ and is often referred to as the ‘voice of God.’ Love is the soul’s frequency. We can learn to tune back into our intuition and to be a compassionate witness to this world through a heart-centered lens by elevating our vibrations to match our soul.\, We do this through attunement practices such as meditation\, prayer\, breathwork\, and other contemplative practices. \nJoin Certified Intuitive Practitioner\, Maggie Lears\, for this intriguing session where we will discuss attunement practices for strengthening our intuition and will also learn about the clairs\, e.g.\, clairvoyance and how they relate to intuition. We will engage in large group discussion\, small group conversations\, a short meditation\, and exercises to ascertain ways that we naturally access intuitive messages. We will begin to develop our intuition so that we become more in tune with our soul’s purpose and begin to live intuitively on a daily basis. \nDATE: Thursday\, March 13\, 2025 \nTIME: 6:30 – 8:30 PM \nCOST: $40 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY: Please read our cancellation / refund policy\, here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. If you are unable to find the email\, please check your SPAM or JUNK email folders. This email will include details to help you prepare for your program including any pertinent handouts\, location information\, and the ZOOM link for online programs. Please be sure you have received and read this email a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the start of the program. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Maggie Lears \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nMaggie recently retired from the faculty of Towson University and is delighted to increase her time spent at Well for the Journey. She is a certified intuitive practitioner and has been involved with the Well for over a decade volunteering in several circles and facilitating workshops exploring mindfulness\, meditation\, intuitive eating\, and the chakra energy system.

SUMMARY:Horizons Men's Group - 2024-2025 (In-Person Program with Online Option)
DESCRIPTION:Most men do not feel they can talk freely about their spiritual journey. At the Well\, we feel differently. The Well’s Horizons Men’s Group is a place where honest conversations take place about how we live out our spirituality uniquely as men in the world – within our daily living. Past discussions have included the deconstruction and reconstruction of faith\, the first and second halves of life\, spirituality and imperfection\, why do bad things happen to good people\, and what can we learn from other faith traditions – just to name a few! \nThis season we will use Richard Rohr’s book\, Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life\, to help us enter a time of deeper conversations and a growing community. \nIf you are looking for a community where hard questions are welcomed and explored\, we have a place for you. Horizons meets on the third Tuesday of each month (October – June)\, from 7pm – 8:30pm. We will meet in-person with the option to “zoom in” for those who may not live close by or for those for whom “zooming” is more comfortable. Come check us out!\n\nDATE: Tuesdays – 10/15\, 11/19\, 12/17/24\, and 1/21\, 2/18\, 3/18\, 4/15\, 5/20\, and 6/17/25 \nTIME: 7:00 – 8:30 PM ET \nCOST: $195 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 and ZOOM \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION POLICY: Please read our cancellation policy\, here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from lorie@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. SUMMARY:SOLD OUT: The Body Holds\, The Body Heals: Restoring Balance\, Releasing Stress\, Creating Calming Practices (half-day\, in-person retreat)
DESCRIPTION:This program has reached its capacity and is now sold out.  We have created a wait list just in case someone who is registered is unable to attend. You may add your name to the wait list here. \n\nAre you going through your day feeling overly sensitive\, too reactive\, or easily triggered? Or do you feel numb most days\, simply going through the motions? By the time we are adults\, most of us are walking warriors\, holding stress and trauma in our bodies as we’ve had to survive and simply soldier on. In the short run\, our bodies may be able to do this\, holding it together to get through. However\, over time\, we cannot keep up this pace. Our bodies become overwhelmed as they hold our stressed experiences. They develop pain\, fatigue\, injury\, or disease\, as they can no longer repress all they have held over time. \nJoin certified Somatic Experience Practitioner\, Emily Kearns\, for this half-day retreat to give your body a break and invite it to begin to rest and heal. The Body Holds\, The Body Heals program provides a safe container for participants to begin to: \n1. identify how our bodies hold whatever overwhelms such as grief\, trauma\, and stress;\n2. relate to our bodies as a resource for calming\, metabolizing\, and integrating what has been held; and\n3. respond differently to past and current stress through somatic (body-focused) practices and rituals. \nThrough guided meditation\, sitting or walking in nature\, art journaling including collage\, and group sharing\, you will grow your self-care toolbox to begin to experience your body as a resource — reducing stress and generating relaxation in body\, mind\, and spirit. \nPlease bring a journal for your reflections. We will be exploring different ways of checking in with and resting our bodies. All of the activities can occur seated\, but if you want the option to lie down or sit on the floor\, please bring a yoga mat\, pillow\, and blanket. \nPlease join us for this healing and restorative mini-retreat! \nDATE: Saturday\, March 29\, 2025 \nTIME: 1:00 – 5:00 PM \nCOST: $55 \nREGISTRATION is closed as the program has sold out; you may add your name to the waitlist here. \nCANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY: Please read our cancellation / refund policy\, here. \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Emily Kearns \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nEmily Kearns is a Somatic Experience Practitioner (SEP) and Reiki Master\, working with individuals to help identify and reduce stress and trauma – anything that overwhelms – held in the body. Her caregiving experience with her parents\, who lived with dementia\, sensitized her to how the body holds and also\, how the body heals. Her Reiki volunteer work in Boston’s Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital’s Integrative Medicine Program\, further awakened her to the power of the body to be a healing\, integrating resource. Emily earned her doctorate in sociology\, focusing her study and teaching on the body\, dance\, and ritual. She is also an installation artist creating two events: Dementia’s Way; and The Sacred Heart of Culture. She is founder of Revive and Thrive\, supporting caregivers/care partners as they experience loss\, grief\, joy\, and cultivate presence.

SUMMARY:Honoring the Gifts of Spring: A Sacred Circle Dance Gathering for Women (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome back Lisa Bardack\, Sacred Circle Dance Facilitator\, for another sacred circle dance gathering at the Well! \nSacred circle dance is a collective dance experience that draws from ancient and traditional folk dances\, many from Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Dancing to wonderful music and rhythms\, we join the circle of grandmothers who initiated these dances and passed them on. Dancing in their footsteps\, we experience a sense of something greater than ourselves\, a continuum of which we are a sacred part. Born from the Earth\, these dances connect us to the rhythms of the seasons and the cycles of life\, evoking a powerful sense of community and interconnection with each other and all life. \nIn this circle dance gathering\, we will honor the season of spring. We are a sacred part of spring\, witnesses to her unfolding beauty and to our own unfolding. There is the promise of renewal and growth in spring\, a time to bring to fruition the seeds and visions we have been quietly cultivating in the winter months. We will move through dances that help us cultivate our creativity and sense of purpose\, and dances that will help to ground us in these turbulent times. We will dance\, as well\, to honor the transition from winter to spring\, the dance between stillness\, restlessness and action. Rooting into the ground as we rise up\, we will dance to cultivate the mindfulness needed to move forward into spring with greater peace\, clarity and joy. \nNo dance experience is required (just basic mobility and coordination)\, as the dances are simple to moderately easy\, and the step sequences repetitive. Lisa will gently guide us in the dance steps and share meaningful information on the origins of each dance. You can dance in bare feet\, socks\, or soft soled shoes. \nIf you love to dance\, or perhaps love the idea of sacred dance and are curious to learn more\, come and enjoy a beautiful afternoon of movement meditation in the safe and nurturing environment that is the Well! Registration is limited to 8 participants\, so please don’t delay! \nTo learn more about sacred circle dance and Lisa\, please visit Lisa’s website at https://www.evokethesacred.com/. \nDATE: Saturday\, April 5\, 2025 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $40 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION POLICY: Please read our cancellation / refund policy\, here. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Lisa Bardack \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nLisa Bardack\, Sacred Circle Dance facilitator\, has been dancing most of her life\, feeling a deep sense of authenticity with this art form. It was in 1997 that she first experienced Sacred Circle Dance and fell in love with this collective experience of dancing ancient and traditional steps to wonderful music from around the world. She has studied Sacred Circle Dance for over 15 years through classes and conferences nationally and internationally and has been teaching since 2008. In addition to her background in dance\, Lisa has also studied yoga\, tai chi\, qigong\, NIA\, and other forms of dance\, cultivating a seasoned understanding of body movement as an instrument for joy\, healing\, and wisdom.

SUMMARY:SOLD OUT - Worship in the Wild at Cromwell Valley Park (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:We are now at capacity for this program and are no longer able to accept additional registrations. \nDuring Covid\, many of us experienced communal worship in new ways\, mostly through on-line alternatives and outdoors. We grew accustomed to experiencing worship that wasn’t attached to a particular sacred building or in-person with others not in our household. Our experience of worship expanded and with it our freedom to recognize the sacred in many worship spaces. \nPlease join us this Spring for “Worship in the Wild” at beautiful Cromwell Valley Park. Our leaders for this alternative worship experience\, Scott Slater and Greg Cochran\, have long and rich histories in traditional pulpits and in the great outdoors! \nScott and Greg will once again combine their passion for nature with their experience of worship to gently move us along a trail where the “worship space” changes and encourages our sense of spirituality in nature. Inclusive and expansive language will be intentionally used that invites participants to think more broadly about how we understand terms such as God or Spirit. The order of service will be loosely structured and based on historic Christian Sunday worship patterns\, but with broader\, more inclusive\, and non-Christian specific language. Inspirational readings will come from a variety of sacred spiritual traditions. \nWe will gather at the Willow Grove Nature Center (east entrance of Cromwell Valley Park). The ability to walk for a mile and stand for ten minutes at a time along the trail is required. Please dress comfortably and wear good walking shoes. This offering is free\, but please register for planning purposes and so that we can notify you if worship is cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. Thank you! \nDATE: Sunday\, April 6\, 2025 \nTIME: 1:00 – 2:00PM \nCOST: FREE & RSVP requested \nLOCATION: Cromwell Valley Park\, 2002 Cromwell Bridge Rd\, Parkville\, MD 21234 \nRSVPs are full and unable to accept additional sign ups. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. If you are unable to find the email\, please check your SPAM or JUNK email folders.
SUMMARY:SOLD OUT: Sound Soul Weaving: Bridging\, Reflecting\, Discerning\, and Connecting with Self\, Spirit & Community (In-Person\, Seated Sound Bath)
DESCRIPTION:We are now at capacity for this this program and are unable to accept new registrations.  If you’d like to put your name on our wait list just in case someone is unable to attend\, you can do that here. \nThe practice of sound bathing has gained popularity recently but is actually a healing practice that is thousands of years old with deep roots in cultures around the world. Jenny Ehrhardt has been facilitating sound offerings for several years\, incorporating her first love as an herbalist into all that she offers. Integrating sound using crystal chakra bowls\, bells\, song\, and rattles with plants and sweetness from the earth\, opens our hearts and nourishes the soul for the healing of the world. What a perfect combination for the Well community and all who seek soul nourishment and healing for self and others! \nWe are thrilled to welcome Jenny back to the Well for another session of healing\, renewal and nourishment during the Spring season of renewal. Jenny will offer a time of stillness\, sacred listening\, reflection\, and alignment with spirit that invites us to take care of ourselves as well as send love and peace out into the world through our vibrations\, prayers and the collective spiritual intention of a sacred community. \nYou will be seated for this session which will begin with a time of introduction and honoring of each participant\, inviting plant spirit connection to our intentions/prayers and sound healing meditation. Healing sound helps break up trauma in the body and assists in releasing whatever no longer serves us. This is so important in our culture and world today. At the end of the session\, Jenny will share seasonal herbal tea and a sweet offering to help integrate and embody the experience. \nWe are thrilled that Jenny found the Well (literally in her own neighborhood!) and is sharing her gifts of love and presence now as part of the Well community. We invite you to join Jenny and trust this ancient healing process of soul sound weaving for the renewal of your body\, mind and spirit and the nourishment of your soul. \nPlease don’t delay! Jenny’s Sound Soul Weaving sessions at the Well sell out every time! \nDATE: Sunday\, April 13\, 2025 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $50 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Jenny Ehrhardt \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nOver the last two years I have been fortunate to work with two other women facilitating sound offerings on the Eastern Shore. I have seen so many beautiful effects this work has had on so many people\, including myself. I feel honored to be working with the bowls and other sounds to help connect us to something much deeper\, Ourselves. Working with all ages on many different levels\, I see the peace come over most people in a very surprising way. I have been called to create small\, intimate sound offerings right here in my hometown. I am grateful to have found Well for the Journey\, which has been such a sacred place for me this past year. I work deeply with the plants as well and had a small shoppe in Hampden for over 10 years. I have been called to service and I love plants\, sound\, and people who are open to change and learning and being in a community without judgement. Pure Hearts\, I feel this at Well For the Journey and look forward to connecting more and sharing and learning through sound and the plants.

SUMMARY:Where Water Meets Sky: A Mosaic Workshop for Rejuvenating Spirit with the Ocean’s Treasures (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:“I LOVED this program! Had such a nice day! I would not change a thing!!! THANK YOU for the best day!” – Kathy Finney \n“I will probably be the first to sign up if this is offered again . I had joy and peace in self and beach combing community the whole time . Cinder is an amazing facilitator & person . Please offer this at least once a year \, but hopefully more than that!” – Sharon Bateman \n \nThe metaphor of powerful waves wearing down the sharp edges of objects in the surf’s tumble is apt for these days and times. The “waves of overwhelm” can be exhausting and diminishing in our lives. Creativity allows the soul to open\, to sing again\, to restore and rejuvenate. It is a process of inviting joy into our lives. \nWith the simplest and most humble of materials – beach combed sea glass\, stones\, and shells – this workshop seeks to awaken our creative juices and enliven our imaginations with time to play\, breathe\, ponder\, create. \nLike a walk on the beach\, the mosaic medium provides a calm\, purposeful path into the soul. It allows us to sink into flow\, moving bit by bit and piece by piece toward focus. We will create mosaic pieces that can serve as talismans for the journey ahead\, each one a prayer for our path forward. Writing and group work will enrich our explorations\, and a “gallery walk” to share our finished pieces and the journeys that inspired them – will cap off the experience. \nWe are delighted to welcome back Baltimore artist\, Cinder Hypki\, for her fourth mosaic offering at the Well! Cinder brings years of experience guiding groups in creative activities for celebration\, exploration and healing. No prior experience with mosaics or any art form is required to participate. Cinder brings her mobile mosaic studio to the Well and guides every step of this fun\, creative\, and life-giving process. You have the option to bring your own beach combed treasures or work with a beautiful assortment of Cinder’s pottery shards\, sea glass\, and shells. \nTo learn more about Cinder and her amazing work\, please visit her website – http://www.cinderart.com \n       \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \n \nDATE: Saturday\, May 3\, 2025 \nTIME: 1:00 – 5:00 PM \nCOST: $100 + $25 Supply Fee  \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program.
If you are feeling urged to give Group Spiritual Direction a try\, please call the Well at 410-296-9355. We will connect you with Cathy so that you can discuss your interest with her. \nDATES (In-Person at the Well): Saturdays – 9/28\, 10/12\, 11/9/24 and 3/8\, 4/12\, 5/10/25 \nDATES (Online via Zoom): Saturdays – 12/14/24 and 1/11\, 2/8/25 \nTIME: 8:30 – 11:00 AM \nCOST: $250 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. SUMMARY:Sound Soul Weaving: A Seated Sound Bath Experience (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:“This was an amazing meditation and one I would do again with Jenny. She creates a sacred space\, is welcoming and gracious. It was exactly what I needed today.” – Donna Mollenkopf \n“I had never experienced sound bathing in my life. It was an incredibly relaxing\, soul nurturing\, meditative and mindful practice. It was a self-giving gift of mind massage I gave to myself and highly needed in the turbulent times we live in. I loved it all. Best program I ever went to at the well.” – Maria Pane \n“This was my first experience with soul sounds coming from multiple sources. Jen combined them with the glass bowls perfectly. The length of time was perfect to allow us to let go and sink deeply into the vibrations of each instrument. I left feeling that my body and soul had been completely nourished.” – Judy Wright \n“Have it monthly. :)” – Diana Fusting \n“I loved every minute!” – Sandi Schultz \nThe practice of sound bathing has gained popularity recently but is actually a healing practice that is thousands of years old with deep roots in cultures around the world. \nWe are thrilled to welcome Jenny back to the Well for another session of healing\, renewal and nourishment. \nDATE: Sunday\, June 29\, 2025 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $50 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W.

SUMMARY:Meditative Movement as a Path for Holy Listening (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:“This is definitely one of the best programs I’ve taken part in. Beth was well-prepared\, knew her subject and communicated extremely well. She was welcoming and allowed plenty of time for us to get to know one another. We experienced the perfect combination of facilitator\, topic and participants. It was a deeply meaningful afternoon for me and\, by all accounts\, for everyone present. Please encourage Beth to facilitate more programs!”- Kathy Shaw \n“A gentle day of heart-filled presence. Nothing needed to be changed or improved.” – A 2024 Participant \nWe are excited to welcome back Spiritual Companion and Retreat Facilitator\, Beth Wood-Roig\, for another session of Meditative Movement as a Path for Holy Listening. \nSpiritual traditions throughout the ages have understood that our bodies are truly wonderful sources for deep and holy listening. When we are tuned into and listening deeply to our physical bodies\, we connect with our holy source\, however that is defined for each of us. But in these chaotic and stressful times\, it is sometimes easy to miss\, forget or even ignore the messages our bodies are sending that signal something is out of balance. Learning to listen again and how to respond to these messages are important skills for all of us to practice. During our day together\, we will explore various forms of movement\, sometimes meditative\, sometimes silly\, hopefully fun\, and ever surprising\, to help us hone our listening and responding skills with our bodies. \nThere will also be time and space for personal contemplation and practice\, as well as group reflection and sharing. Weather permitting\, we may spend some time outside at the beautiful Well property so please dress appropriately. \nNo prior experience is needed\, just basic mobility. All movements can be modified for any fitness level. Please bring your own bag lunch. Please don’t hesitate! This program is limited to 10 participants. \nDATE: Saturday\, July 19\, 2025 \nTIME: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM \nCOST: $60 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY:  Please read our cancellation / refund policy here. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Beth Wood-Roig \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nBeth’s background includes many years leading contemplative retreats\, small group facilitation and spiritual companioning. She believes that we each experience the Divine in our own unique way. Her sense of the One is that of loving Presence\, holding us gently through all of life\, the joys\, surprises\, sorrows\, uncertainties\, worries\, fears\, and assurances. Her faith background is Unitarian Universalist\, with Christian and Buddhist leanings\, and she often finds spiritual grounding in body prayer and nature. Beth has completed certificates in Contemplative Leadership and in Spiritual Direction for Spiritual Guides\, both from Oasis Ministries for Spiritual Development\, based in Camp Hill\, PA. She enjoys gardening\, hiking\, reading\, body prayer and dance\, and spending time with her family and two kitties.

SUMMARY:Honoring the Gifts of Summer: A Sacred Circle Dance Gathering for Women (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:“Would love more of this type of program and would even suggest she expand to half or whole day retreats.” – Alice Jo Weaver \n“I appreciated seeing Sacred Dance in a different context. I have no suggestions for improvement.” – Jane Kerschner \n“I just really had no expectations and I loved all the dancing!” – a recent participant \n“The chance to engage the body in a spiritual practice was wonderful.” – a recent participant \nWe are delighted to welcome back Lisa Bardack\, Sacred Circle Dance Facilitator\, for another sacred circle dance gathering at the Well! The dances connect us to the rhythm of the seasons\, evoking joy\, peace\, insight\, healing and a deep sense of community and interconnection with each other and all life. \nIn Traditional Chinese Medicine\, the element associated with Summer is Fire\, and joy is the emotion of the Fire element. In this gathering\, we will dance to honor the gifts of Summer\, this active season of the heart. Through dance\, we will remind ourselves of the importance of nurturing the heart and cultivating love for ourselves and the world around us. We will dance to honor summer’s abundance and cultivate an expansive presence to the beauty and wonder that surrounds us. We will cultivate inner radiance\, our inner fire\, while dancing more meditative dances to bring necessary balance in these challenging times. \nDATE: Saturday\, July 26\, 2025 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $40 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY: Please read our cancellation/refund policy here.  \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. This email will include details to help you prepare for your program including any pertinent handouts\, location information\, and the ZOOM link for online programs. Please be sure you have received and read this email a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the start of the program.

SUMMARY:An Intergenerational Mindful Outdoor Experience (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:In this Mindful Outdoor Experience (MOE)\, adults and children ages 5 to 12 learn to use their mind-body-spirit to begin the process of “re-wilding” to the outdoors. Spending time at “nature’s table” with our children creates cherished memories and builds an appreciation for all that “Mother Nature” gives. \nA regular dose of outdoor activities also teaches people of all ages how to remedy complex and challenging emotions such as stress and loneliness. It is especially important to teach our children how to handle these emotions as early as possible so they become more adept as teens and into adulthood. \nThe best way to learn from nature is to be outside in nature. Jamila Keita\, experienced Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide (KMOG)\, will lead us in age-appropriate nature-driven practices to awaken the senses and develop connections with the “more than human world\,” gentle yoga movement to breathe\, stretch & strengthen\, and guided meditation practices to release stress\, relax the mind and promote good emotional health. \nNo experience is necessary. Bring your curiosity and a few of the children\, grandchildren\, nieces\, nephews\, or other young people in your life for a delightful and engaging summer morning at the Well. We all need to get outside and take a breath! \nDATE: Saturday\, August 2\, 2025 \nTIME: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM \nCOST: 1 Adult – $40; 2 Adults – $60; Each Child – $5 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. My name is Evangeline “Jamila” Keita. I’ve been practicing yoga for almost 25 years and decided to teach yoga as my “retirement job.” It was during my yoga training (YT200) that I was introduced to Yoga Nidra. Immediately after completing YT200 in 2014\, I took my first Yoga Nidra training. Since that time\, I’ve taken subsequent trainings in Yoga Nidra in 2017 and 2021. I love this practice. \nDuring the shutdown\, I found “nature therapy.” This led me to complete a course through “The Kripalu School of Outdoor Leadership” and become a KMOG (Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide). \nI currently work for Nature Worx\, a non-profit that provides mindful outdoor experiences and nature therapy to persons in recovery and the general public. I also teach two yoga classes per week on Zoom. Each class includes poses and a short Yoga Nidra session. Since 2022\, I have provided weekly Yoga Nidra sessions for Hopewell Cancer Support Center and occasional Mindful Outdoor Experiences (MOEs). Additionally\, I work for Nature Worx\, a non-profit that provides MOEs to persons in recovery and the general public.

\nWe are thrilled to welcome Jenny back to the Well for another session of healing\, renewal and nourishment. \nDATE: Sunday\, August 17\, 2025 \nTIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM \nCOST: $50 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W.

SUMMARY:In Search of Sanctuary - A Day Retreat (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:“Sanctuary is wherever I find safe space to regain my bearings\, reclaim my soul\, heal my wounds\, and return to the world as a wounded healer. It’s not merely about finding shelter from the storm: it’s about spiritual survival.”\n– Parker Palmer \nThe word “sanctuary” typically evokes a sense of peace\, shelter\, and safety. It may remind us of a particular space where we have worshipped\, a favorite bird sanctuary\, or a place of refuge for those seeking a safe haven. Parker Palmer suggests that sanctuary is any space where we can regain our bearings\, reclaim our souls\, and heal our wounds. In these troubled and depleting times\, sanctuary is vital for our spiritual wellbeing. \nSometimes sanctuaries are physical spaces\, but sanctuary may also be found in the company of creation\, the solace of a friend\, the pages of a good book\, or the depth of silence. On this day of retreat in the sanctuary of Well for the Journey\, we will search for the sanctuaries in our lives\, reflect on their meaning and purpose\, and consider how we might be sanctuary for others. Our search will be aided by contemplative spiritual practices\, reflection\, periods of silence\, and sacred space for dialogue and sharing. \nA simple lunch of soup and bread will be provided. Come\, step away\, and regain your bearings in the sanctuary of the Well. \nDATE: Saturday\, September 6\, 2025 \nTIME: 9:30am – 4:00pm \nCOST: $70\, includes lunch \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program.
