SUMMARY:Bringing Mindfulness to Life: Caring for Yourself & Others with Mindful Awareness\, Compassion\, and Joy (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:The focus of this exciting new series of workshops will be on deepening self-awareness and self-compassion\, and strengthening resilience. Together\, we will learn to respond rather than react to life’s many challenges through the lens of mindfulness meditation and self-compassion practices. \nWe will work with our minds to transform our lives\, much as people have done for centuries\, and learn about the ways contemporary science is now validating these ancient practices. Through mindful listening and speaking\, and formal and informal meditations\, we will weave a communal net of individual and group awareness and meaningful inquiry to strengthen our connections to ourselves\, one another\, and those we may serve. \nThis new series will continue to build on the successful summer 2026 workshops guided by experienced mindfulness teacher\, Amy Bloom Connolly\, which honored the practices and teachings of the Monks’ Walk for Peace. \nEach participant will also receive a CD (or if preferred\, a link to the MP3) recording of Amy’s Nurturing Yourself Through Mindfulness . These two guided meditations can be an invaluable support to establishing or strengthening your regular at-home practice. \nParticipants may enroll in one\, several\, or all of the programs. While your greatest benefit would come from continued steady participation\, each workshop will provide practical benefits if you can attend only once or intermittently. It is our hope that over time and with continuity\, a mindfulness practice community will emerge at the Well. \nDATE: Mondays – 9/21\, 10/19\, 11/16\, 12/14/2026 and 1/18\, 2/15/2027 \nTIME: 1:00 – 3:00 PM \nCOST: In our ongoing effort to provide meaningful programming for all\, we are pleased to offer three cost options for this program – $25\, $35\, $45. Please choose which one works best for you. These options apply to each session of this program. \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required. Please register here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from programming@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. If you are unable to find the email\, please check your SPAM or JUNK email folders. This email will include details to help you prepare for your program including any pertinent handouts\, location information\, and the ZOOM link for online programs. Please be sure you have received and read this email a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the start of the program. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Amy Bloom Connolly \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nAmy Bloom Connolly is Founder of the Center for Mindful Awareness. The focus of her work has been to deepen self-awareness and self-compassion\, build resilience\, and strengthen self-regulation through the CMA’s signature mindfulness-based SHINESM Program (Support\, Honor\, Inspire\, Nurture\, and Evolve). Her work invites people to connect more deeply with themselves and share their gifts with the world. \nThroughout her professional career\, she has worked with low-income families; young-at-heart elders; women living in shelter; women healing from addictions and abuse; families with young children with disabilities; homeless veterans who are in recovery; and the professionals who support these folks. \nAmy has practiced and studied mindfulness for more than forty years. She is a certified mindfulness teacher through the Meditation Teacher Training Institute led by Tara Brach; and has participated in trainings and retreats with Jack Kornfield\, Thich Nhat Hanh\, Sharon Saltzberg and the Dalai Lama. Her vision is to bring mindfulness to life\, and make research-based transformational practices clear\, relevant and accessible. She also is a student of tai chi and qigong.

SUMMARY:Horizons Men's Group (In-Person Program)
DESCRIPTION:Most men do not feel they can talk freely about their spiritual journey. At Well For The Journey\, we feel differently. The Horizons Men’s Group at the Well is a place where honest conversations take place about how we live out our spirituality uniquely as men in the world – within our daily living. \nGreg Cochran\, Executive Director at the Well\, has been facilitating Horizons for over ten years. Past discussions have explored a wide range of topics including the deconstruction and reconstruction of faith\, navigating the first and second halves of life\, spirituality and imperfection\, why do bad things happen to good people\, what is Truth\, and what can we learn from other faith traditions. Last year’s group used the wisdom of Parker Palmer as a guide. \nThis year we will use two books as catalysts for our deep conversations – Faith: A Journey for All by Jimmy Carter and The Wisdom of Wildernes: Experiencing the Healing Power of Nature by Gerald May. These books will help us explore the themes of faith\, doubt\, hope\, justice\, service\, living practically out of our faith\, the “power of Slowing”\, our inner wilderness\, discovering our “true selves”\, and the perfection of imperfection – just to name a few! \nIf you are looking for a community where difficult questions are welcomed and explored from the unique perspective of male spirituality\, we have a place for you in Horizons. \nDATES: Tuesdays – 10/13\, 11/17\, 12/15/26 and 1/19\, 2/16\, 3/16\, 4/20\, 5/18\, and 6/15/27 \nTIME: 7:00 – 8:30 PM \nCOST: In our ongoing effort to provide meaningful programming for all\, we are pleased to offer three cost options for this program – $250\, $225\, $200.
Please choose the option that works best for you on the registration page.
