SUMMARY:Drawing Zentangle Inspired Mandalas (Online Program)
DESCRIPTION:Join Becky Boynton this Fall as she returns for another offering of Zentangle®! Becky\, a Certified Zentangle Teacher\, is excited to guide others in learning this step-by-step method that can expand your sense of being creative and positively contribute to your overall experience of well-being. You are invited and encouraged to participate in this upcoming program whether you have never “tangled” before or if you do have prior experience with Zentangle. \nThe Zentangle® Method is a simple\, relaxing\, fun way to create beautiful abstract designs by drawing structured patterns. Participants only need paper\, pencil\, a black fine line pen and some Q-Tips or other blending tool. No previous skills or experience are needed; just a willingness to put pen to paper. There are no mistakes in Zentangle; this is meant to be relaxing. \nWhile the process may look intricate\, it is a deceptively simple pathway to improve your well-being. In addition to verbal instructions\, you will receive handouts before class that will assist you in following Becky’s live video demonstrations. \nThe benefits of Zentangle are numerous and include increased confidence\, relaxation\, and inspiration. This practice also enhances focus\, heightens mindfulness\, and fosters a deeper sense of meaningfulness on a spiritual level. Beginners are often quite surprised and pleased at what they create. “Anything is possible one stroke at a time.” That is the Zentangle tag line. \nIn each class\, Becky will use the Zentangle method and patterns to draw a mandala. Mandalas are usually circles filled with symmetrical and repeating geometric shapes. They date back to at least the 4th century B.C. and can be found in religious ceremonies\, meditation practices\, home décor\, on clothing\, and even tattoos. \nParticipants are encouraged to follow the instructions as demonstrated or “go rogue” and deviate slightly or widely from Becky’s planned mandala. Each of the sessions is suited to first-time tanglers as well as those with experience. The sessions stand alone\, so participation in all three is not necessary. Additionally\, for the first time\, the sessions will be recorded. If you register and are unable to attend for some reason\, we can send you the recording after the sessions. A copy of the recording will also be sent to everyone who attends. \nDATES & TIMES:\n· Tuesday\, September 17th from 7:00 – 8:30 PM ET\n· Thursday\, September 26th from 10:00 – 11:30 AM ET\n· Sunday\, September 29th from 4:00 – 5:30 PM ET \nCOST: $25 per session or $60 for all three sessions \nLOCATION: ZOOM \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION POLICY: Please read our cancellation policy here. \nIMPORTANT: You will receive an email from lorie@wellforthejourney.org at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your program. If you are unable to find the email\, please check your SPAM or JUNK email folders. This email will include details to help you prepare for your program including any pertinent handouts\, location information\, and the ZOOM link for online programs. Please be sure you have received and read this email a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the start of the program. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Becky Boynton \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nBecky Boynton taught elementary school for 27 years in Virginia and Maryland\, in both public and private schools. Most recently she served as the Service-Learning Coordinator at the Friends School of Baltimore. A longtime volunteer at a food pantry and financial assistance center in Baltimore\, she now volunteers teaching Zentangle® on Zoom. She was first introduced to Zentangle in 2012 and has been tangling ever since. In 2018 she became a CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher) by attending the four-day training program in Providence\, RI. She has been teaching Zentangle® since 2018. \nBefore Zentangle® she considered herself a crafter\, not an artist. Zentangle® has changed that. This step-by-step method is easy to learn\, relaxing and a fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It increases focus and creativity. She enjoys bringing this technique to those who do not see themselves as capable of creating art. She is now a firm believer that\, as the creators of Zentangle® say\, “Anything is possible\, one stroke at a time. ™” \nBecky returns to The Well having taught in person and Zoom Zentangle classes for us since 2020.

SUMMARY:Sound Soul Weaving: Bridging\, Reflecting\, Discerning\, and Connecting with Self\, Spirit & Community (In-Person Sound Bath)
DESCRIPTION:The practice of sound bathing has gained popularity recently but is actually a healing practice that is thousands of years old with deep roots in cultures around the world. Jenny Ehrhardt has been facilitating sound offerings for the past two years\, incorporating her first love as an herbalist into all that she offers. Integrating sound using crystal chakra bowls\, bells\, song\, and rattles with plants and sweetness from the earth\, opens our hearts and nourishes the soul for the healing of the world. What a perfect combination for the Well community and all who seek soul nourishment and healing for self and others! \nJenny will offer a time of stillness\, sacred listening\, reflection\, and alignment with spirit in the safe and sacred space of the Well. Being able to go deep into yourself while also being in community allows us to take care of ourselves as well as send love and peace out into the world through our vibrations\, prayers and the collective spiritual intention of a sacred community. \nWe will begin with a time of introduction and honoring of each participant\, inviting plant spirit connection to our intentions/prayers and sound healing meditation. Healing sound helps break up trauma in the body and assists in releasing whatever no longer serves us. This is so important in our culture and world today. At the end of the session\, Jenny will share seasonal herbal tea and a sweet offering to help integrate and embody the experience. \nWe are thrilled that Jenny found the Well (literally in her own neighborhood!) and is sharing her gifts of love and presence now as part of the Well community. We invite you to join Jenny and trust this ancient healing process of soul sound weaving for the renewal of your body\, mind and spirit and the nourishment of your soul. \nPlease Note: This session will last 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the number of participants. \nDATE: Sunday\, September 29\, 2024 \nTIME: 4:00 – 6:00 PM (1.5-2 hours) \nCOST: $45 \nLOCATION: Well for the Journey – 120 W. Seminary Ave\, Lutherville-Timonium\, MD 21093 \nREGISTRATION is required; please register here. \nCANCELLATION POLICY:  Please read our cancellation policy\, here. Thank you! \nFACILITATOR: Jenny Ehrhardt \nFACILITATOR BIO: \nOver the Last two years I have been fortunate to work with two other women facilitating sound offerings on the Eastern Shore. I have seen so many beautiful effects this work has had on so many people\, including myself. I feel honored to be working with the bowls and other sounds to help connect us to something much deeper\, Ourselves. Working with all ages on many different levels\, I see the peace come over most people in a very surprising way. I have been called to create small\, intimate sound offerings right here in my hometown. I am grateful to have found Well for the Journey\, which has been such a sacred place for me this past year. I work deeply with the plants as well and had a small shoppe in Hampden for over 10 years. I have been called to service and I love plants\, sound\, and people who are open to change and learning and being in a community without judgement. Pure Hearts\, I feel this at Well For the Journey and look forward to connecting more and sharing and learning through sound and the plants.
