“What holds us together? We differ in age, creative dreams, and life situations. We have seen each other through joys, loss, crises, and artistic struggles and successes. Through all the vicissitudes of daily life we continue to hold each other accountable in our creative dreams.” – Susan Saunders, talking about a group of 8 from The Artists Way who continue to meet 6 years after completion of the program. Quench. Fall 2010.
“I am deeply moved by the quality and love of your connection to each other and your community at The Well as a whole. Your respect and open listening, and sharing with each other was so moving to me. All of you were so welcoming and warm with me as a newcomer, and I felt so at ease and able to be myself with all of you. What a tremendous gift. Yours is a very special and to be treasured community.” – Kathy Dunn
“The Well reminds me that faith is an important component of every single day – not something reserved only for quiet or leisure time.” – John Frisch
“Throughout the years, The Well’s imaginative programs, the honest sharing of faith, hope, and experience, the introduction of art, journaling, and centering prayer have stretched and strengthened me personally.” – Doris Zimmerman
“Last spring for Lent, I signed up for my first Well program, ‘Praying with Watercolors.’ I was so pleased with the whole experience: the relaxed nature of the program, our leader, the other friendly and supportive participants, and the creative exploration of prayer. I departed with about a dozen watercolor paintings created in my prayer time including an abstract that was my favorite. Recently a young girl from my neighborhood stopped by to visit and said that my Lenten abstract reminded her of being underwater in a pool and looking up through the waters towards the sun. What a wonderful interpretation from my young friend! It’s been many months, but I’m still discovering new meanings from my first Well experience.” – Cheryl Duvall, 2007
“‘Women at the Well’ helps me as well as my family. When we started our fall session ‘Transitions’ I first thought of how it affected me and the transitions I have been through in my life. I have realized that my eleven year old son who just started middle school is going through transitions of his own. I experienced ‘God-moments’ when he brought home a collage he made in school the same day we created collages at our Women at the Well gathering. He also came home from school with a poem titled ‘What if’ just a few days after we discussed the ‘what-ifs’ in our own lives. Not only am I experiencing and reminiscing my own life transitions but I am blessed to walk along with my son as he experiences his.” – Karen Kohr, 2007
“My invitation to The Well came from a dear friend, at a time in my life when I really needed it. The Well has provided an opportunity for me to listen, live and give not only to the women in my Crossroad Companions group but to integrate the experience into a holistic view of life, ministry and service. For this, I am forever grateful.” – Marellen Mayers
